The Governor of California does not want people in California to defend their lives. Stop calling it a homeless problem! It's a drug problem. There used to be at least some accountability for using drugs and that being illegal, but people wanted the legalization and normalization of drug addiction so here you go! You'll get the crime that goes with it. Homelessness is secondary.

as a registered sex offender, it is extremely hard to find a place to stay. They can't live within a certain distance from schools or parks. Even a small pocket park means a neighborhood is off-limits to them. It is not surprising if he is homeless possibly for that reason. Also keep in mind the report does not say why he is labeled a sex offender. An offense like having sex with an underage teenage girl or urinating in public is a technical violation of statutes. Once labeled a sex offender, it is a designation that follows a person to the grave, it is almost impossible to get rid off. Without that context, this report is meaningless to the understanding of the case. It is just another 'homeless guy goes postal (anybody remember that expression?)' report. The people interviewed didn't see what happened and are merely stating their own, off-the-cuff opinions without adding anything of substance. Local news is the pits. Your time is being wasted.
