17:21 Wait so to understand, the purpose of the breaks acts like a steering, like if you wanted to go left you'd have to break the left break in order the right tracks push the tank to the left... Smart.

I like that it’s direct drive but for Safty you should put a clutch on that engine so at idle it’s not trying to take off on ya

I've would have reversed the master brake cylinders so you pull not push the levers, so it would be more natural in way of you are braking that side(or slowing down that side) to turn! With the fact that I'm going to guess you'll be adding a throttle petal to rev up the engine which will in gauge the engine to the transmission as well!
@elementalblaze79

I now see you'll be fully setting this tank to be all hand controlled not both foot & hand! Which to me is going to be where you'll be very busy in where you must either be turning or setting throttle!

It will move forward, but turning requires too much power. When one side stops, the other side will start spinning much faster and loosing torque. Also uneven terrain will cause issues of the tank automatically turning instead of going over the bumps

Doctor D.S., Nice build so far. I am surprised you didn't build a brake system, using pedals... like a Farm Tractor, to free your hands to operate other equipment. That tank is going to be heavy when it's done; you may have to use a set of step-down gears to muliply the Torque from the 300cc engine enough to move it, without stalling once you engage the cluctch. (translated by google) Lijepa gradnja do sada.

A suggestion, you should put some strips of metal to the tank treads so it has some digging in power instead of just riding on slicks.
@mcjaggerify
@mcjaggerify 4 жыл бұрын
You should add a clutch to disconnect the transmission so you can stop and go without being thrown off. Not to mention the tank will stop instead of the motor continuously trying to go forwards and might not actually stop. Not to mention you should have ripped out the full Automatic Braking System of 2 cars and put it in instead. It will make turning smoother instead of a constant jerking turn it will have. And lastly if you ignore everything else, just don't forget to secure the brake lines.

Hääähh...pushing the steering brakes instead of pulling it? I think this is counterintuitiv and is getting axhausting very quickly. Its not good, to rush the work, just to get the video finished every week....anyway.. i appreciate your effort on this vehicle build and the way you are showing it to your audience.... Nice work.... You mention your “TURNER” regularly. I figure you are talking about a “Machinist”. You should give him a shout out by name. It seems he does good work for you. Just a thought. I am enjoying you build videos. I’m just wondering if you will mount a light machine gun, heavy machine gun or cannon on it when you finished. 🤣👍🏻🇺🇸

@nicklewis6052
@nicklewis6052 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s all well and cool to steer but you still need a clutch, MUCH lower gearing, and a transmission. Otherwise it’ll be too fast with not enough power, will go forward as soon as you turn the engine off, and won’t have any capability of stopping or reversing.
@GarnettM
@GarnettM 4 жыл бұрын
Well it`ll move ok the belts will get super hot they might turn upside down or twist they have a tendancy of doing that without having a flat surface but that`s just the bugs to work with it`s still a prototype so far I have a dynamite clutch for this but would cost me a leg to get it to him from Alberta Canada
@nicklewis6052
@nicklewis6052 4 жыл бұрын
Garnett M the problem that I mentioned isn’t that it won’t move so much as it won’t *stop* moving when the engine is on as there is no disconnect (like a clutch) in the drive train, and there is no reverse or neutral. Also based on how fast those drive sprockets were spinning it would be uncontrollably fast as is.

You really need to remake the control handles. I would cut them weld them to go over the top of the control canisters and then angle up. That would take the handles from touching the seat and still allow free movement. Just my opinion...

Trebaju ti obje, nije to volan. I samo polako, imaš vremena.

Few tips from dear experience , The brass throttle cable stop on the end will be a hinderance of wearing out on the small metal bolt from wiggling back and forth they ware out fast it will leave you sitting somewhere been there done that , , I`m really curious what your going to use to keep the tracks tight -A slip wheel like on the Caterpiller front idler will work great on this or TORSION bar Wheels somewhere on the track system ,, And don`t forget to stand this up on end or tip it over to weld all the joints underneath or they will fill with mud and water and rust or split constantly ,, The bolt holding the levers will be a bear when removing with rust ,, BUT GREAT JOB SO FAR !!
