INGREDIENTS FOR BBQ SAUCE
500 g tomato puree
100 ml of apple cider vinegar
125 g of honey
70 g tomato puree
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons of liquid smoke
1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
1 teaspoon of dried garlic
1/2 teaspoon dried onion
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 chipotle peppers
dark soy sauce for color
salt
HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE BBQ SAUCE
1. In a medium-sized saucepan, mix all the above ingredients except the soy sauce. It's a good idea to soak the dried chipotle peppers in lukewarm water for 10 minutes before adding them to rehydrate them.
2. Now heat the mixture over medium heat. Add dark soy sauce until you have a typical brown-red color. Then reduce the heat and heat the mixture over low heat for another 10-15 minutes until it thickens.
3. Let the finished barbecue sauce cool and then you can keep it in the fridge for several weeks.
