@@ProjectShopFl Taking the pan out of the bottom was a good idea. We had a vacuum line hooked up to the pan and fed the granules back into the machine on top. I’m not sure but it’s not fast enough, first motor I had was over 3000 rpm’s then it burned up because someone got it James and never shut off the machine. I put a 1700 rpm motor on and it does the job just can’t feed it as fast
@marcingapski38193 жыл бұрын
@@ProjectShopFl I thought so. I have a similar speed in the mill for the animal grain. I think about your device when writing an engineering thesis, but I'm going to design a two-stage shredding process because it is about car cables with plugs and plastic elements. Sorry for my english, I use the translator. Greetings from Poland :)
@ProjectShopFl3 жыл бұрын
@@marcingapski3819 More RPM’s was way better. A two stage or (pre shredder) system is something I’m already thinking about. I found that if you cut the copper wire into half inch pieces it goes through the granulator so much faster and less stress on the machine. I think I’m going to try to make a single staffed pre-shredder but I’ll drop the piece is the weather in the lawnmower and run the pre-shredder at about 50% capacity of the machine. This was just a prototype I set up to see if it was worth it. I learned a lot the main things are pre-shred, and make sure no steel, have lots of water pressure and flow, and break the water tension so the copper doesn’t float on top. The multiple trees on the sluice work good for that I’ve actually got some really good Ideas for the next setup. Thank you again for watching

@ProjectShopFl4 жыл бұрын
1 min per tray. 3 trays in 3 minutes . One 5 gallon bucket every 3 minute. Each 5 gal bucket of plastic copper mix has about 36 lbs of copper. 5 buckets of mix = 1 180 Lb 5 gal bucket of pure 99+% copper chops. So it could wash easily 5-600 lbs an hour. 1-2% loss in copper stuck to insulation witch I run again and recover some but have an idea to grind the insulation down further and run that with less water pressure.

Why? You have just downgraded the copper to the lowest grade and price for scrap.

How do you figure that? When I sell copper chops I get in between bright and shiny and number one copper. Maybe where you are it’s different but this is how it goes where I sell my copper. #1 bright and shiny, #1 copper chops, #1 copper, #2 copper, #2 copper chops

What, how does cleaning up copper or any metal downgrade it?
