How to make ice cream without an ice cream maker or any machine. With this food hack, you have have homemade ice cream in just 5 minutes using nothing more than a bag.

🛒 INGREDIENTS 🛒
½ cup whole milk
½ cup cream
¼ cup sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup rock salt
Ice
🍦INSTRUCTIONS 🍦
Add 1/2 cup whole milk, 1/2 cup cream, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract to a mixing cup and stir until well combined.
Add the mixture to a small zipper bag. Now, this is very important. I am not going to advocate any sorta brand here but you definitely want a quality bag. You are going to shake the hell out of this for 5 minutes and, well, if the bag breaks open, it's totally going to suck.
Now to create the ice cream maker. You just need another zipper bag, one that is much larger than the bag with your ice cream mix in it. And you want to fill that bag with a couple handfuls of ice and about half of the rock salt. The same applies here... you want a quality bag that isn't going to blow up.
Now place the smaller bag inside the larger bag. Cover it with more ice and rock salt.
Now the fun part! And, what better way to earn your ice cream than a few minutes of exercise. Wrap the bag in a towel, because it is freaking cold, and shake it for 5 minutes or until the liquid in the smaller bag turns into ice cream.
You can scoop it out but honestly, just eat it out of the bag. It is easier.

they dont want to use the salt ... 1/2 cup of rock salt everytime you want ice cream adds up ... there was another video that did not use salt but if this works for you then go for it. you can get rock salt at value for what? ... $10? if you got the money for that then while your there pick me up one ... :P BTW: every gallon of liquid weighs 8.33 pounds, I'm only 160 i'm not shaking 8-9 pounds for 5 minutes ...

For the “creme” part, I just used 1/4 cup milk and 1/4 cup butter! I worked just fine and tasted AMAZING!!! ( Also make sure to fully melt the butter.)

Guys thanks for likes, also I found a way to do it without zip lock bags. Dont use salt or ice but mix it with kitchen mixer or blender then put it in freezer for 24 hours. Have yourself some delicious ice cream

Did this for my daughter's birthday. In the hot summer sun, 10 eight year-olds making their own ice cream. I prepared the cream bags ahead of time, then, just before "serving" made the outside bags and the kids raced around the garden tossing the bags in the air to make ice cream. They had a blast.

I just made this! I put it in the freezer because mine was melting. I think it was my fault though because I used regular salt mixed with rock salt because I didn't have enough rock salt. I also think I added a little to much vanilla, but all of that was my fault and I think this is a great recipe to try!

Can also be done with coconut milk for a dairy free ice cream. Tastes amazing too IMO but if u really want the coconut flavor make sure to use coconut flakes

Wow, I loved this! Here is another way: get a blender and fill it up with ice, (the area the ice takes up I'd how much ice cream you get) then pour in milk, but a little less than the ice. Then put in sugar and a flavour like chocolate or vanilla, and blend until it's completely done! There you go, ice cream.

This is so versatile. I didn't have half the ingredients. All I had in my dorm room was 2 percent milk, 5 things of coffee mate which I took from a nearby coffee place, and 4 sugar packets. Figured I'd give it a whirl. Mixed 'em all up, hunted for a bag with no tears and started shaking. Delicious! Way better than expected - as tasty as store bought without half the fat, preservatives, or sugar. Thank You, sir! This was Fantastic!

@@MissTracyyy223 Hi there, The man in the video did not even follow his own written recipe. He used 1-3/4 cup whole milk plus 1/4 cup half and half and he called that cream. The more milk and less fat is going to result in ice crystals which are super cold and give you brain freeze. (It is called ice milk) You can google homeade ice cream recipes. I prefer recipes made with eggs, the taste is delicious and the fat in the egg adds to the creamy smooth texture to final results in your icecream. (My daughter prefers no eggs. My grandson agrees he likes the egg texture. Neither is wrong but eggs are creamier ) I use Roughly 1 egg per 1 cup of cream or milk. I like to mix milk and heavy cream but you can make 1 large egg pluss 1 cup of cream and probably 1/4cup of sugar. Or (1/4 cup whole milk to 3/4 heavy whipping cream as in full fat real cream). Sugar to taste, (sugar is tricky because melted icecream is sweeter than frozen icecream so your first couple of recipes pay attention and take notes how much sugar you used, then did it need more or less sweetness? For this small of a recipe maybe use 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract. (I say use real vanilla not imitation the taste is distinctly better to use Real Vanilla.) If you have a blender ora Magic Bullet Whip it all together. Then put in a container in the freezer. Give it a good stir every half hour and lick the spoon because you are going to love it. Af ter it starts to set after you have stirred it 4 times let it go over night. (that is if you didn't already slurp it down like a milkshake if you did that then make another batch. IF you find that as it is freezing it isn't sweet enough go ahead and add more sugar and whip it again and put it back in the freezer. It is vey forgiving you can just rewhip and refreeze.

I actually tried it for anyone that wants to know, it really does work! Just make sure you have enough ice and u shake for the amount of time he said in the video. It gets really cold when you shake so yes have a towel on the bag!!!!!!!! Enjoy ur ice cream!!

chris dsouza yes. Mine wasn’t freezing with the ice so I put it in the freezer overnight and it made my ice cream.

Block Buster yes it really is just like soft serve icecream! I had never made icecream before by hand and I just followed this video step by step and it worked perfectly (it also tastes better with more cream of course). It's also nice because it's already in a bag and keeps well in the freezer.

Have any strawberries/raspberries? Cut & mash a few of those to fold in, or some mashed up banana, or a drizzle of honey with a shake of cinnamon/nutmeg (or both) with some mashed up peaches. how about almond extract? It's 4:35 AM... I need to sleep. Let me know if any ideas were helpful. Night now.

I haven’t done this particular recipe but I’ve done it with the ice and rock salt. It worked but didn’t fully turn to ice cream. I also shook it a whole lot longer than 5 minutes. We used water softener salt.
