While watching TV, I suddenly started craving a dish called "Dwaeji Bulbaek" that used to be sold in the Yeonnam-dong alleyway. For international students living abroad and foreign friends interested in Korean food, you should definitely try making this dish. It's incredibly easy to make and guarantees amazing flavor. Plus, pork is more affordable than beef, making it perhaps the best ingredient in times of high prices like nowadays. ^^
"Dwaeji (Pork) Bulbaek" is a shortened term for pork bulgogi and a rice, a representative dish of Korean working-class cuisine. It involves marinating pork, which consists of both meat and fat, in soy sauce seasoning, then grilling it over high heat. It's typically enjoyed wrapped in lettuce with rice. Our ancestors' wisdom led them to use pork to create a tastier bulgogi when beef was too expensive.
For those of you wondering what to have for dinner tonight, why not go out and buy any cut of pork and try making it yourself? Then, perhaps enjoy a glass of soju while having a delightful dinner. Well then, bon appétit!
