Masterpiece! Well done! Far more interesting than the majority of homemade lathes of milling machines in youtube that use commercial linear bearings and rails bolted down.

Thanks for your comment It is nice work and handful and help me a lots but, rail way is not perfect at all because I did by hand and this is my first time I made lathe never learn and never seen just only watching from KZfaqr, I have another job but Covid changed my experience after jobless. I think now should be enough for me making new lathe soon if possible. Thanks again for your suggestion.

Congratulations Mr Rany, you are working with basic tools and creating a wonderfully useful piece of machinery, which can be used to create much more accurate parts, that can be used to make more accurate machines.... You should be very proud of your talent and metal-working skills, which have highlighted how someone with determination and patience can produce a capable machine, without just clicking a 'buy' button and having a completed item delivered a few days later. Thanks for the comment and hope you have enjoyed this lathe. I'm so happy about it because it helps me a lot especially let me continue to other machines as I did and now I am planning to build a milling machine so if I could finish Miller it sure continues to the next step. Buy seem to slow because some kind of thing never found in my city and the metals are so expensive and I used to order online for the prices of the tools are ok but shipping much over than tools this is a problem. Thanks C Mac I appreciated your comment. I haven't any experience as much just learned from KZfaqr and have some problems because I do not understand the basics of how to start, otherwise, the equipment as used only grind angle cut and hand drill press for drill cut plates thick metal. But I'm so happy with my homemade work and now it works very well too so I can push my other plans like the Milling machine. I just finished my Chop Saw. This time Milling machine was a bit slow because of the budget but I still hoping. Thanks again Mac

Thanks for your comment in this video. I think is not a hundred perfect because all by hand have something went wrong too. It is my first time had done this. Now I’m looking a new homemade metal lathe if possible.

@@mr.ranyhomemade2466 Absolutely my friend. It took me a long while to find a decent one for my freezing cold shop in the barn. I was able to source one from an estate sale and now I have put my sights on building a milling machine. I love your lathe . The lathe is the only machine that can not only remake itself even better but make all the other machines in the machine shop. Excellent work. Everything looks better than a factory made lathe. Keep up the great work and I will share your video to all my maker friends.

You should look into making some surface plates and straight edges via scraping with the three plate method. Then you'd be able to get your ways perfectly straight and flat, and the parts you make with the lathe would be even higher precision!

I would use positive rake inserts not those you are using. Because the negative inserts like yours are for rigid, powerfull and havier machines.

Thanks for your comment I knew someone part was impossible but no choice because I never founded in my city sometimes my people said I crazy and waste time. And metal cost expensive for my tools only a small grinder angle cut and press drill and welder that it. Thanks your suggestion

Amazing yes, However why did you opt for angle iron as an accurate means to achieve true flite? You would have done better to have had your flites machined on a true machine in order to make yours an accurate flite. Flite travel should always be one inch or thicker flat plate that's been face machined.

Now I can understand some parts of the lathe. But I still wondering about the southbend and how to set up the gear to run and how to make bolts and nuts. Thanks again
