The old Jerry Baker tonics. Believe it or not I used some of his recipies 20 years ago and they did work to a degree. Fungus, POA and Nutsedge are a lawn care nut worst nightmares lol

I just need it to work at least a little. I’m doing everything right with the typical chemicals and still getting fungus. At this point I expect fungus but if I can control it with a more natural solution I’m all for it.

Me too! I saw some mixtures that also included baking soda but was reading that baking soda can also damage the grass. The ammonia will actually provide a bit of color pop, according to the golf course site I grabbed the recipe from.

Came from your IG broatcast! yes, even though I have been applying fungicides, I see fungus still going/coming back. I have seen beer and literine were used in garden, but I couldn't find anyone showed on the lawn! This is awesome! Thank you!

I’m over using fungicides. They kill all the healthy fungi and microbes and leave your lawn more susceptible to fungus anyway. I’m gonna start focusing on adding mychorrizae and healthy microbes to my soil. Those two things alone should really help from everything I’ve read it just takes time to really bring your soil to life. Like you no matter what I do I always have some type of leaf spot or brown spot or blight going on.

I hear you. My approach to fungus next year will be totally different. Minimum to zero fungicides and focus on managing moisture.

Hello I bought a house and moved in in March. However since i moved i have some issue to deal with even when the house is in great conditions including the yard. I notice those white mushrooms and brown spots and some of the plants too . I cant wait to treat my yard with this and see how that works. Why spending a lot of $$$$ when you can do this yourself . I mean I will do it cause i havent have a break since I moved there -I started feeling like i shouldn't buy a house :(

@@GirLzLawn Yup there’s always next season. I was talking to a former golf course superintendent about disease mutation. Basically his theory is misapplying or over applying can lead to new strains of disease. I put his theory to the test. Less was definitely more for me. But our lawns are all different.
@GirLzLawn
@GirLzLawn 11 ай бұрын
@@jwilliamsloggedin Makes perfect sense to me because when I backed off of applications every 21 days, things got better. But I also reduced watering and just let my lawn dry as much as possible, so that combination is what I will stick with next year. I really like the Anderson's Prophesy, so may continue to use that and apply every 30 days or so.

Love your channel! It seems like we both deal with the same lawn issues: fungus and poa triv! I can definitely relate. I too am frustrated with the fungus this year and don't want to keep spending $$$ on fungicides every 2-3 weeks. Definitely interested to see how the natural remedies work! Another one worth looking into is neem oil. It is a natural fungicide. I applied it along with propiconazole and it definitely helped, but haven't tried it by itself yet. Also, have you ever tried spraying T-Zone and Tenacity on poa triv patches? A few other KZfaqrs had success with it.
@GirLzLawn
@GirLzLawn Жыл бұрын
Thank you. No, I’ve seen some of the other stuff that people have tried for Triv but no real proof it works. I’m thinking of doing the one thing that I really wanted to avoid, RESET next Spring. I don’t have faith that it will eradicate the Triv but it will give me a couple years free of it. 🤷🏽‍♀️

So I apply the natural fungus control to my back yard 2x and it didn't cure the fungis but didn't allow it to spread to my entire back yard. Therefore, I will keep using the natural fungus control in the future t3 because I don't like use all of the harsh chemicals either, especially since I have water drains in the front and back of my house.
@GirLzLawn
@GirLzLawn Жыл бұрын
@@kevinmcadoo9045 yeah, it will not cure the fungus and I don’t believe there’s anything out there that will actually cure the fungus, but controlling the fungus is what you want. Glad to hear that it worked for you. My experiment was cut short, but next year will be a whole different story for fungus control.
