Albert & San. Hi. Thanks for the nice comment! The answer is unfortunately no. For meats and non-acidic veggies like green beans, you need to pressure can so the temps get up to 250 deg. I actually had a viewer comment that she cans chicken in a 250 deg oven. That’s seems like it would work because you are getting your temp to 250 deg. It may be worth some investigation. All the best canning.

Zack Lanford. Hi. The venturi basically mixes air and the propane. It lets you adjust for the perfect blue flame. If you want yellow flame, I could see giving it a try without a venturi. You’ll just need to mod it up to connect the propane hose tank to the pipe.

Hi. Wow! They are out of stock on venturis. This inspired us to come up with a completely home made venturi. I just got done trying it out. It works perfectly and requires parts that we bought at Lowe’s and Amazon (Lowe’s didn’t have a pipe tee so we ordered one). We only had to drill one hole to mount the orifice. Hi. The orfice size would the difference between natural gas and propane. I would call the Tejas Smoker folks to check if there venturi works with natural gas. I don’t see why it wouldn’t because it should just need the correct orfice for natural gas.

If you cut them at 1/2 inch, I wouldn’t make them too deep because you have to make sure that you’re not cutting so many that you’re regulator/tank can’t keep up with the amount of gas flowing. The issue is it could freeze up the fittings.

@hieutrinh4281
@hieutrinh4281 3 жыл бұрын
@@useful.knowledge the grilling area is roughlty 24" by 60". but the cooking area will not be that big. so instead of having 3 or 4 short burners like the traditional grill, i think about using 2 long burners running along the length of the grill. from your video, can you adjust the flame higher with the regulator or this is not adjustable. also you mentioned 3 burners, are they tied together into one bottle with 3 separate ball valves? thx for quick reply.
@useful.knowledge
@useful.knowledge 3 жыл бұрын
It is somewhat adjustable using the venturi and the regulator. Also, I bought several of the orfices so that I could drill them out to get the perfect burn. I drilled one out too much and couldn’t get good velocity of the gas. The orfices are the least expensive part of the build so that’s where I concentrated on the gas adjustment.
