Homemade Starbucks Caramel Syrup | Simple and Easy Caramel Syrup
Caramel syrup for coffee like Starbucks |Homemade Caramel syrup | Quick and easy Caramel syrup recipe
1 cup white sugar (200 g)
1 cup of water (250 ml)
Pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1) Pour the sugar into a saucepan
2) Over low heat, heat
3) During this time boil the water
4) When the sugar starts to color, stir until the caramel becomes completely amber
5) Take it off the heat
6) Pour boiling water over it
(Watch out for splashes when pouring boiling water)
7) Stir until the caramel is completely dissolved
8) Let it cool (15-20 minutes)
9) Add the vanilla extracts and the salt then mix

Thanks. Just saved myself £7.50. The fancy glass bottles of caramel syrup sell for approx £7.99 in cafes/bars etc. This cost just under 50p for the sugar. I refilled a glass bottle and it was just as delicious as shop bought (While the pan was out, I went on to make 2 trays of salted caramel toffees. Another massive saving.)

my caramel stuck a little to the bottom of the pan right after i put the water on 😂 but I think it was because i left a little more on the fire. even so, can still use it and it was very tasty! thanks for the recipe 😍

For anyone who will actually make is as noob like me, make sure you put the sugar on the lowest heat you have as it can easily burn. And when you are about to put the water put it fast and VERY becareful as it will splash and you can easily burn like me.

That’s what I did, and instantly the mixture turned almost black and started frothing and crystallizing, smelled rather burnt. Idk it it can be salvaged.

To avoid clumps, you can start with a little sugar and keep adding it slowly. Waiting each time until the sugar has melted. If you keep burning your product, you can add about a teaspoon of water before you put in the sugar. Great recipe👍

It looks simple, but it ain't easy :( I tried to make this not only once or twice, but THREE times tonight and still failed xD The first time my caramel hardened as soon as I added the water. Second time, the sugar crystallised into lumps instead of melting, probably because of sugar crystals in the pot from the first try. Cleaned my pot well and tried a third time, but the caramel hardened again :( I give up, at least until tomorrow!!!

use a bigger pot or keep the pot in place and just kill the heat so it doesnt cool down that fast

There's 2 types of caramel preparation. If the dry not working, try the wet caramel and add a bit of lemon juice so crystallization will be avoided, 2nd just leave until it turns amber brown golden then add small amounts of water slowly until all is poured into mixture

@@NOOVEN I sure did. the dalgona thing worked well with this syrup but i didnt darken caramel enough tho since I use the wet caramel method and it can be a bit tricky to know how dark it really got cause of the foam. i will take a light caramel over burnt one any day of the week tho. dry "the one shown in video" is so easy to burn. I make caramel drinks every once in a while, like a special version of the drinks I like. some of drinks I loved with caramel: -Caramel+loose leaf tea nescafe "this dalgona thing" -Caramel with water "i actually prefer this to lets say, "tea" made from teabags💀 drinks i didnt like: hot cocoa. I don't find Caramel suit cocoa or chocolate flavour,but salt makes good difference,other than this buy a better quality chocolate/cocoa if you want to level up your hot chocolate.

It happened to me the first time as well. When I tried it again, I let the dissolved sugar cool down longer before adding boiling water and it seems to work

It depends on the heat source, but for me it took about 4-6 minutes or so until it began to melt. And about 4-6 minutes until everything caramelized😃😃😃

When I added my boiling water to my melted sugar the melted sugar balled up and turned hard. I ended up throwing the hard ball of melted sugar away but the boiling water still tastes like caramel. Will the syrup still work correctly?

that happened because you didn’t wait for the sugar to cool down. the boiling water has to be hotter than the sugar you’re adding it to

If you mix it from the beginning, it will be a very tasty syrup, but it won't be caramel syrup. Caramelization process make the caramel taste. Thanks for watching

Won't the alcohol in the vanilla extract not dissolve because you didn't boil it? I don't want alcohol in my caramel.

then don't add it. basic caramel just need sugar and heat "water if you want to make it easier but you CAN do it without water" salt is also not necessary. I like caramel tasting like just caramel so i dont add other things like vanilla.

At the beginning of your recipe,when the sugar is melting, mine melted in clumps. I kept stirring and the clumps melted. But at the end, I had a chunk that wouldn’t melt. It was boiling and I felt it would burn if I kept going. Can you think of what I did wrong?

😂Sorry to hear that😅 That can happen sometimes😭My advise it to try to stir in circular motion from outside to inside to melt the caramel slowly😃and in case if it is still difficult to do so, cover the pot while melting the sugar instead of stirring. The steam should help not to chunk up the caramel🍯 I hope this helps🙏

I know this is a late reply but you can add a bit of water to start dissolving the sugar before you heat it. You just have to way for the water to boil off before the sugar will start to caramelize.

I just had the same thing happening to me! I put the clump in a cup, added some boiling water and most of it dissolved! To completely dissolve it I plopped it in the microwave for 30 seconds! Turned exactly like the main mixture so I just added it :)

Hi😃Thanks for asking😃You can use vanilla essence or vanilla beans😃If you don't have any, you can omit the vanilla and you will get a sugar syrup which is also very tasty for coffee☕️

Maybe you took it off too soon from the heat, if it just tastes like sugar you could let it cook just a tad bit longer to make the color darker, and if that still doesn't work you could try it with a bit darker sugar (brown sugar), they taste deeper in general already :)

@@diemofastora3109 No. It’s caramel pouring syrup. The caramelisation comes from the “cooking,” or melting of the sugar. Adding cream and butter results in caramel toffee. Equally as good as the syrup.

Milk/cream and butter would make it caramel sauce. This is caramel syrup.
