Empanadas are a delicious way to bring your loved ones together, because they’ll enjoy helping you make them as much as they enjoy eating them. Simply start with the very best beef and premade pizza dough, and chow down on these little pockets of goodness.

INGREDIENTS:
1 pound Certified Angus Beef ® top sirloin or tri-tip steak, diced in 1/8" pieces
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
1 yellow onion, diced (about 1 1/2 cups)
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons cumin seeds
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 (4-ounce) can green chilies
1/4 cup fresh chopped cilantro or flat leaf Italian parsley
2 (11-ounce) tubes raw pizza dough, thin crust
1/4 cup flour, for work surface
4-inch cookie cutter (large drinking cup works well too)

Those look delicious! Me, being impatient (and, well, rumoredly lazy) usually make 1 large empanada pie using 2 Pillsbury pie doughs! Just remember to fork and stretch the bottom dough before piling on the toppings and sealing on the upper dough. Egg wash the top for sure.

Oh wow guys! You really did something epic today! You know, this is the absolute only food that I miss from my Argentina! The recipe is absolutely amazing! I prepare it the same way but adding olives and grated boiled egg. Congratulations and thanks for this "latinesques" recipes that you do!

Great point! I had a friend from Chile who added boiled egg and olive to his (even though he quartered the egg). I was skeptical, but it really adds a great flavor and even consistency to the empanada. Diced or grated egg is even great in gravy (old southern technique, especially with giblet gravy)
