I'm a little old lady who's been stocking up for a good 7 years. It's just me here but I stock up for my kids and grands. Unfortunately with snap making the big reduction I can only buy food for the month now. Thankfully i don't have any debt or a car and that expense. My daughter is nearby so she helps for grocery pickup. Love my kids! In my monthly haul I do stick paper plates or something like that to add.

I stock up extra also for my kids and grandkids. Actually, my daughter and her family, live on the same property as us. And every now and then she will forget something at the store and ask if I have it. I also watch for items that my granddaughter likes to eat. If I don't watch it, my 6yr old granddaughter will go shopping at my house. lol She loves picking the wild blackberries and eating them.

Our dollar tree in western NY is noticeably low in stock. A lot of shelves are bare. Did get $20 of things today though. I like the shelf stable almond milk. Thanks for showing what you get always gives me ideas for when I shop there. I have a walking disability & it lets me plan before I go into the store on what is available prior to walking in. I am only able to stand or walk for short periods of time before feeling like I am going to fall so I am limited on time spent in any store. You do a good service for people who either can not get out who have others pick up things for them or people who are only able to stand a short time & need to get in & out of stores quickly. Thank you.

I noticed your grocery bags were the brown one's you hardly see anymore. My great grandmother who helped raise me after my mother left was really poor. She raised 4 children on her own after her husband left. She knew how to be really frugal. She would save the brown grocery bags and tear them into pieces and rub each piece until it was soft and she used it as toilet paper saving on not buying toilet paper she could buy a little more food at the grocery store. She was truly a very smart lady. Plus she did know what it was to be hungry.....she fed her kids first and if none was left she went without.

I'm wondering about handling laundry in SHTF /low water situation. Bought DT flour sack towels to use as bath towels & they're great. I like them because they're fairly big, all cotton, absorbent but lightweight. They would be nice to use for quick sponge baths. They hand wash easily and dry quickly; much more efficient than bulky bath towels.

I snagged a couple things today that I hadn’t thought about before/heard mentioned..DT has plastic jars filled with every size button imaginable. A 3 pk of buttons at hobby lobby will cost you a couple dollars or more. When it hits the fan, we’re going to be able to repair our clothes. Also was oral pain relief gel. There is nothing worse than a toothache. And who knows when you’d be able to get an appt. Something that I found irritating and thought was against the law, they’re selling the very large cans of green beans, with no expiration dates. Myself and 2 other ladies searched each can and no dates had been stamped on them.

Jinnie I can't remember which video I saw this on but you had bought a gadget to use for separating your ground beef or chicken when it was cooking and you said you had never tried one of these before. I purchased one maybe 10 or 12 years ago at a Pampered Chef party and it is a godsend. I love this so you should like yours. The only thing that I would suggest is that when you need to do this as it is cooking on the stove that you remove your pan onto a potholder on your counter so that you can really getting there and separate your meat because it does take a little bit of effort especially if you want your chunks fairly small. Also if anyone has a smooth top stove definitely remove it so that you don't damage the top when you are poking the meat to break it up. I have used mine when the meat is partially frozen and the edges are unthawing as I can scrape around the edges to get it broken up. Hopefully I haven't scared anyone on getting one of these because they are great. I think Food Network also carries them and they are great.

I’m a North Carolina girl raised on grandma’s cornbread without sugar but….this cornbread is wonderful! It has only a hint of sweetness. It’s nowhere near as sweet as Jiffy. One bag makes a good sized cast iron skillet full. I’ve been going to my local stores and getting all they have! Which is generally 3-5!. Try it, it’s good stuff!

Jenni, did you notice that their canned chicken had a size shrinkage - or at least at mine they did.... from 10 oz to 5 oz.... still $1.25 a can. Also don't know if you've seen the Dining on a Dime 1 & 2 cookbooks as they have them at 40% off with a code - sorry can't remember the code, but Tawra mentions it in her VLOGs. Our Dollar Trees do not have matches due to the homeless people - you need to go to a reg store & hope they have some.

This is kind of off-topic but it’s prepping I was wondering if you’ve ever figured out how much lamp oil it takes to run a lamp hurricane lamp like eight hours a day never had to do it so I have no idea what a rate of consumption would be. Was wondering if you have had to do that before

It will mainly depend on how high you run the flame. The higher the flame, the brighter the light and also can cause it to smoke, if the flame is too high. We had to use ours during our Texas Snowmageddon during Feb 2022. I keep most of my lamps well stocked with oil. And we only used them when it started getting darker in the house, but most of the time they got blown out at bedtime. But, I have ran them on low flame during the night before. I use to do that years ago to help keep the bathroom a little warmer at night and you didn't have to turn on the bright light, when you are half asleep. I also keep extra wicks and the top parts of the lamps on hand, plus extra matches. We live in a 50+ old house, so there are a lot of air leaks. And we actually use kerosene in our lamps. The lamp oil that we were buying, smelled exactly like kerosene and kerosene was cheaper than lamp oil.
