Our dollar general closed because of the thefts on a daily, more than once a day. I live in northern California so lots of places have had to close because of the astronomical thefts and crime. I loved that store so much and yelled nooooooo! when it closed. It is so sad that this is being allowed to happen

I love DG. Lots of pantry staples and shelf stable food. I follow Kristie’s Connections and she gives info on DG sales/clearance plus the $5 off $25 on Saturday’s is good for stocking up on the $1 aisle.

I love the long matches. If you're in a pinch and don't have any you can light a piece of spaghetti, does the same job. I have book matches just for that. I love your videos so much. Be safe this weekend if the hurricane comes your way. Thanks for all your advice. I can't wait to make a potato tower next summer 😊

Don’t forget that you can use your dryer lint as a fire starter. I put a little bit of lint in each cup of a cardboard egg carton and pout in melted wax that is leftover from when a wick burns down in a jarred candle.

I used to make a "Cream and Coffe" mug for little happies. Back then I could get a mug for $1. And Folgers used to coffee in teabags. I'd put a couple of them and a small tube/bottle of hand cream. Wrap it in cellophane with some ribbon. Also. "Cookies and "Cream" for those who didn't drink coffee. Replace the coffee with individual packs of cookies.

I will have to ck some these $Gen items. I am recovering from knee replacement surgery and has been very nice to have stash of things on hand. Doesn't have to be SHTF events to need preps.

Hope your knee replacement went well! I had my left knee replaced in 2021. Brutal! Now I’m waiting for back surgery. You are so right about SHTF. We need to be prepared for all types of reasons. God Bless.

I'm so excited. I finally found the spray bottle hydrogen peroxide in our dollar tree. I've been watching you buy this item for a long time and was bummed that my store didn't have it. My son used it today and said it was so much better as he would pour the original version all over and waste so much.

After using a long Match I save the wood stick and reuse it. We wet and dry used stick and slip it rubber banded to other used matches and slip it back in the box. Just strike a regular match to light when needed. Many great ideas today😊 Thank you

I take a straight pin or needle and puncture my peroxide or alcohol seal and then the amount that comes out is very controlled. I like the spray bottles too!

Jinne, yes! With you on the straws. I love them with my homemade iced coffee, but my supermarket only had those awful paper straws today. Will hit up Dollar General this weekend for some real straws! Thank you ❤

You can pour peroxide into a smaller container and use cotton swabs to use small amounts.

I only have one Dollar General near me and I never go there. Every time I used to go it was filthy and smelled horrible. The shelves were always a mess. Everything in the store smelled bad too. My mom bought a t-shirt for my little brother and when she got it outside she threw it in a trash can because she didn't want that smell in her house even long enough to wash it.

I love the spray of hydrogen peroxide. I brush my teeth , rinse,and spray that on my front teeth, I let it sit for a minute. Helps to keep your teeth white and super cheap.

I shop Dollar General clearance events. This last week they had 50% off already marked down items! Chicken noodle soup was .49, 2lb boxes of macaroni were $1.00. Great time to stock up. Their normal food prices are much higher than a real grocery.

Crystals hot sauce makes great hot wings! nail files are good for sharpening up hair cutting and regular scissors

The Crest toothpaste with baking soda and peroxide is good for bug bites and using it for sores that you need to draw out like a boil, splinter, ingrown hair.

I use the Vigo chicken and rice all the time. I add chicken bouillon instead of water (could use bouillon cube in hot water). I add 1 can of drained vegetables and a large can of chicken using the juice as part of the liquid in the recipe. I add the chicken and drained veggies after the minute of boiling that the recipe calls for. On smaller packages of rice mix I add a small can of chicken. Great one pan quick meal.

I hear you re straws. I hate paper straws with the intensity of 1000 fiery suns. My daughter got me some stainless ones that are a pain to clean. I use super cheap wide mouth smoothie straws. I think from Walmart. I put them in the dishwasher and use them until they split

Great video! Next time you're at DT, look for quick and old fashioned oats. I haven't seen them in quite some time! Also, the McTrader stuffing is pretty good, not as salty as Aldi. I also ran across some sweetened coconut, 7 oz and GMO free. We are getting the apple pie filling that has been missing for awhile. Also look for baking cocoa, maybe chocolate chips too.

I saw the long matches in a local discount store. I use the short matches, but I figure Jinne says always have extra matches, so I did 😊. Couldn’t pass up the great price too!

Dollar General is my go to store. Less than a half mile down the road, it's not only close by but less expensive than Dollar Tree for things I use most often. I love the dollar section and clearance shelves.

Omgosh several things I had to 😂😂😂 "I'm bonkers & I still treat myself" same "Our local dollar general stores always look like they were just looted" best description ever of ours too. Now about 5 miles down a rural highway nearby they opened one about 6 months ago & 😱 is it ever nice!!!

You inspired me to stop trying to buy everything jn bulk. I stopped at the dollar tree this week and picked up a bunch of small sized items, including personal hygiene stuff. I felt like I had won the lottery when I got home and saw all the things/food items I got for $20! These small volume items will come in very handy during the coming hard times when the politicians push the USA economically/monetarily off the cliff. Love your vids! Thank you smart lady! New sub.

Another great haul! Our Dollar General doesn't have what it used to have. Very limited selection and always empty spots where food should be but I always check out what they have!

We don't have many Dollar General stores here either, and those that are around seem to be in unsafe areas. Did go to a Dollar Tree in our area, found lots of empty spaces on the shelves and missing items. They dedicated a lot of space to Halloween and now even Christmas but their essentials like food and toiletries very low. For example they had lots of toothbrushes but just took several of one kind and lined them up on individual pegs to take up space. Some of the areas for the food was empty or very low, but they had their soda, junk food and candy stocked, but had a very small selection of rice and beans. Jinnie I liked your comment about multi-purposing items, people during the Great Depression knew they had to use, reuse, repurpose and find other ways to use things to get by. We might actually be seeing more things in short supply too. They had 4 ounce bags of coffee for $1.25 which makes it about $5 per pound but a very small selection. May be a good time to get some shelf stable things like canned yams, cranberries, potatoes, etc for holiday meals.

Hi Jinnie and all you good people! I know this time it was DG and not DT. But, I got an item warning for you. At Dollar Tree those 4oz coffee packets....all of those are good. The Jim Beam, Harry and David and Juniors. Last time I was there I bought some new coffee that I had never seen before to try. I'm so glad I only bought ONE. I wish I could remember the name. I believe it started with an S. It was in a blue and brown rezippable bag and had 6oz instead of 4 like the others. I thought ...okay...2 more ounces for the same price. Don't buy it!!! It didn't even smell like coffee and tasted nasty. BLEK! If you've ever tried Beaumont....this is WORSE. Just a warning to save your buck and a quarter. You're welcome.

We have probably a dozen DGs around here. The one that I go to the most looks like everyone left and never finished what they were doing. Very unorganized I went to a different one last week and was pleasantly surprised. Plenty of helpful, friendly employees, most of them stocking the shelves. Jinne, they had the dehumidifiers on the Dollar Aisle! I got 6 ( would have gotten the seventh one, but couldn't reach it, so left it for someone else 😊). Same as the ones at DT. Even though they are they are farther away, I may go a few more different stores and see what they have.

The dollar general near us has a whole 1.00 section, I've gotten a lot of good deals that way. I also do the clearance section when i have coupons for the stuff plus I love it when they do half off the already clearance price especially if I have a coupon too , even better if it happens to fall on a Saturday then I can use the extra 5.00 off 25.00 😃.
