I take the Honda ADV150 for a ride down the expressway to see how it handles 110km/h (68 mph) on an Australian dual carriageway.
I forgot to mention in the video that I did this entire video while seated in a nice comfortable upright riding position - higher speeds and a little more power could be achieved had I pulled down into a tuck position.

In America, I am not aware of any speed limits when you have a temporary (provisional) license. That's interesting! I've had my ADV150 up to 67mph (USA) a few times and that's when the limiter seems to kick in. But, I don't enjoy going that fast so it's no big deal. My rides are casual and at lower speeds so I can enjoy the scenery. BTW, my son had a GROM years ago and I could only get that thing up to like 50mph. He sold it six months later and got a Harley. I enjoy your content, thanks!

Do you feel you will upgrade to the ADV 350 if they release it in Australia? I am currently hanging out to see if they do, as I am torn between the xmax 300 and ADV 350.

I would love an ADV350, I imagine they'd be fantastic for touring. The real question though is whether I could afford one - I reckon they'll be quite pricey if they do make it to Australia. The 350 is also about 50kg heavier than the 150, which would push it out of the small-fun-bike category for me.

Great stuff ; just a question how the bike handing at the moment. Worth it ?

Yup, just had the 6,000km service done a couple weeks ago. It's a pleasure to ride. Sometimes I feel it would be nice if it was 300cc instead of 150cc, for a little more top-end power, but then I remember the small size, lighter weight and cheaper price. It would take an incredible motorbike to make me want to give up this scooter.

How was the break of adv 150? Did you feel extra vibration when riding.?
@WildStuff
@WildStuff 3 жыл бұрын
The brakes are good, though I haven't had to hit them really hard yet. My Australian model has ABS on the front wheel. Vibrations are not a problem but you can hear the engine working hard to maintain 110km/h. If there was no other traffic to worry about, I think the engine is more comfortable at around 100km/h

I've read that a full face helmet will not fit under seat. Is that true? Also does it have an outside helmet lock for when you already have the under seat storage maxed out?
@WildStuff
@WildStuff 3 жыл бұрын
I can confirm that no matter what Honda's marketing material says, my full face helmet does NOT fit under the seat. Though mine is an XXL, so you might have more luck if you have a smaller head. I think from memory that it does have a helmet lock (will double check tomorrow), but as my helmet strap doesn't have a d-loop, I just chain my helmet through the gap in the centre of the handlebars with a bicycle chain-lock, and sit the helmet on one handlebar. I use this quite a lot, as I regularly have the storage full of jackets, groceries and take-away food.

@@WildStuff Funny story. Went to dealer today to see it and told the salesman what you said. He disagreed, went and grabbed a full face helmet off the shelf, had to laugh as he tried every way but could not get the seat to close. Also verified no outside helmet lock. I ended up putting a deposit on a yammie xmax. I plan on riding 2up and was afraid the 150 just would not have enough juice.
