yep better stay as a dream because if we do have that kind of road here wannabe racers will use that road and doesnt even wear a proper riding gear, and dont give a damn about other road users, what the philippines lack isnt a road but a disciplined riders

What a great and capable little machine! Scooters are underrated here in Australia. Although I now ride an adventure bike, there are times when I miss the relaxed simplicity of travelling by scooter. Mine was a 300cc, I had no idea that a 150cc was so punchy out on the highway!
@WildStuff

It certainly withstood the challenge. And for whatever it lacked over such a prolonged adventure, , it sure made up for in fuel economy over the 4 days. Whatever Honda did to this engine, they fine-tuned it well enough to make it a smooth, comfortable, lightweight and fuel efficient touring machine.

What a trip! I own a couple of big bikes a Suzuki Burgman 650 and a Kawasaki Voyager 1700. I'm amazed at someone making that trio in that size bike. I can see you had some luggage strapped to the back but I would want something much bigger like one of my bikes to do it. Well done - good video.

School holidays had just started so I took some basic camping gear (hammock, tarp, sleeping pad) in case I got caught out with no available accommodation, and I also took my drone. Didn't end up needing any of it, I could have easily gotten by with just the under-seat storage. A change of clothes, puncture repair kit, compact camera, and you'd be good to go.

Great video! Thanks for documenting your excellent adventure on a scooter that seems to be very capable for a 150cc. Would love to see more adventure vids on the ADV. I've just put a deposit down on one, but will mostly be using it for my 10km work commute and only the occasional short highway squirt. Happy to see it is up to the task. Have you put a top box on at all? If so, what type of rack and box did you get? Can't seem to see any non ebay ones. All the best and hope the ADV is still treating you well!
@WildStuff
@WildStuff 2 жыл бұрын
Cheers Paul. No I haven't put a top box on it, because like you said, the only options so far seem to be eBay and I have no idea what will fit and what won't. Even my local Honda dealer (where I bought it from) couldn't find or suggest anything to suit. So on the rare occasions I need more storage I just tie a duffel bag to the seat like in this video.

This is sufficient for two wheels touring today, no more big tenere , or mighty GS . Easy to ride, could speed up if needed, has more space for your stuff, and easy to maintain. If it were a bit bigger, say, 300 cc, it would be " the dual sports killer". Yes we have the ADV 750 on the market, but by watching this video , a 750 becomes an overkill.

No ADV350 in Australia unfortunately. We can't have nice things here. Australia even introduced new laws regarding ABS braking this year that resulted in the ADV150, Grom, Monkey, CT125, and a bunch of other awesome bikes simply being no longer available to purchase new anymore. The Forza NSS350 is available here, and I am seriously contemplating one as my next bike purchase, however it's difficult to find a Honda dealer with one on display in their showroom, as scooters are such an underappreciated niche market in Australia.

@@WildStuffThose big jap companies are simply too lazy to add ABS. That’s why the Chinese will soon swallow the Aus market. They already have the CFMOTO 126cc Papio with ABS. Amazing, huh. Fat lazy corporations deserve to lose their market share, just like Nokia did 😅

I did a bigger loop (12,500km, Melbourne>Sydney via coastal roads>GC>Cairnes>Darwin>Uluru>Adelaide>Melbourne) on a Grom 125 back in 2016, it was challenging but really fun! How does the scooter handle in mild dirt? I read that the standing position isn't too comfortable
@WildStuff
@WildStuff Жыл бұрын
The ADV150 is fine on a well-maintained dirt road but not cut out for off-roading at all in my opinion, though there's plenty of footage of people doing insane things on it. Correct, the standing position is awful as your feet are out in front of you, so if you stand up, you're squashing your waist against the handlebars. I just got myself a CT125 to make dirt roads and fire trails a little more comfortable, for future videos.

I live in a state here in the USA that doesn't require helmets while riding, so I choose not to. I would like to know if the windscreen actually helps keep wind off your face? Obviously you were still pelted with bugs. but was wondering if it actually made any difference. Currently have a cheap Chinese scooter with no windscreen, and I want to upgrade to the ADV150. I have all the other info I need, and your video was the most useful! But, the windscreens usefulness is the one thing the reviewers never seem to mention? Could you have managed without the full faced helmet? Or, would it have been miserable??
@WildStuff
@WildStuff 2 жыл бұрын
Coming from my previous bike (a Grom) with no screen at all, when I first rode the ADV150 with the screen in the lowered position I noticed that the wind which would normally be pummeling my upper body was being directed right at my face, which became uncomfortable at higher speeds. When I raised the screen into the higher position, then the bulk of that wind was directed over my head, but leaving enough to give me that wind-in-your-face feeling that we love riding for. I love to ride with my helmet visor open and just have sunglasses to protect my eyes, and I would gladly do so at just about any speed on the ADV150 (with the screen raised) except for the risk of taking a bug to the face. So I tend to close my visor at around 80km/h or faster. I know everyone's definition of comfortable or miserable is different, but I think if you kept the windscreen in the raised position and there were no bugs around, you'd be fine with just some eye protection.

My thoughts exactly. The 350 is almost 55kg heavier than the 150 - it's no longer a 'small bike'.

@WildStuff
@WildStuff 3 жыл бұрын
@@satria_hardjakaprabon I have only owned a Grom before this to compare it to, but yes it it very comfortable. The seat is great and you're in a nice upright riding position with no strain on your arms. On the first day I pulled over a couple of times with a sore bum, and stretched my legs for 5 mins before continuing. By the 2nd and 3rd day my backside was used to it, and my usual fuel/food stops were enough to relieve any discomfort. The bike can easily sit on 110km/h (which is also the speed limit here) as long as there are no strong headwinds and the road is flat. With a tailwind or some downhill, it can do 115km/h. Most of this trip was done between 100 and 105km/h, because I wasn't in a rush to get anywhere, and I get better fuel economy at lower speeds.

I’m on the fence with the 2022 ADV, I’ve heard the ADV’s lose power going uphill. Have you experienced that?
@WildStuff
@WildStuff 2 жыл бұрын
It doesn't have a lot of top end power and you'll definitely notice that while going up a big hill while trying to maintain 100km/h. That's the nature of it being only 150cc and 15 horsepower. Not such an issue in lower speed-zones though.

@@WildStuff Yeah, I was afraid of the lack of top speed too. I will definitely pass on the ADV. I currently have a 2021 SYM Fiddle 3 200i, the ADV would be a huge downgrade in terms of power. I am getting the 2022 Suzuki Bergman 200 instead. It’s $700 more than the ADV.

in the Philippines... most of the motorcycle dealers in Metro Manila will not let you buy scooters like Yamaha NMAX 2020 or Honda ADV 150 in full payment "CASH" (SRP) you can only own it by FORCE installment 😅

It would be difficult in a strong headwind, perhaps with some downhill slope to assist. You might be interested in the ADV150 Expressway test video on my channel, showing it happily sitting on 110kmh in regular conditions. I've found it won't exceed 116km/h regardless of how much tailwind or downhill I have, yet I've seen other channels showing it peaking at around 130km/h, though I have no idea how stock their bike was. Mine is completely stock. I also haven't yet compared the indicated speed against a GPS to see how much over-read my speedo might have.
