Not good Ian, at least you were prepared. Alpina make nice wheelsets, if i heard that correctly, very popular in the Motard scene too.

David Hawking - That is correct, they are big in the Motard world. I like that fact that you can mix and match colours, so I have gold rims, with red anodized hubs and black spokes. Looks really good.

Another great video Ian. It's good to see the reality good, bad or otherwise on these trips. I'm not sure I'd be as calm and cool as you were after 3 flats. It's just manufacturers going cheap on the motorcycle package/ how can Yamaha do it with the Super Ten, now BMW on the big GSA, and now rumored on the 2018 F900GSA. Thanks for the video, looking forward to the next one.

Shayne - Thanks Shayne, unfortunately this was it for Nam 2017. After the tyre drama i did 1000 miles straight home in 2 days ... I had to get to Cape Town anyway so called it a day. I have some small pieces of video that may make up something to show but it 's basically done. Cheers Ian

Thanks Ian, I look forward to seeing those new wheels, and getting your assessment. On a couple of other notes, what software/ program do you use for video editing? Regarding your riding, are your rides primarily the 3 week annual Namibia - meaning no more vids until next year?

Bruce Kendall - I try not to overplan ... each day is a general direction when solo, when 2 or 3 then accomodation is more of an issue.

Did you get the tubeless rims for the AT? If so, how do you like them?

Sid Shelton - Hi Sid, yep got them and the Tractionator tyres but I do not live and work in South Africa so only have 2 months a year to ride. A mate on another 2017 AT has good things to say so I cannot wait for Sept to try them out.

Having any problems with fork seal leaks on AT?

Sid Shelton - not yet but I have heard they only do about 40k miles. I am still only half way there on that. Infact i intend to buy the new 2018 AT with the adventure parts on it and the longer fork travel. We shall see ...
