Remembering breakdowns and bodges from the past. Do modern reliable bikes remove these old skills?

Brilliant, you are ensuring we stay to the last possible minute as there are so many false endings that we are never sure when you are actually about to finish the video 😂😂😂

When I had a Puch Maxi 2 speed automatic in my teens, I was ringing it's neck down White Horse hill, Hawkinge, when I heard a bang. The next thing I saw was the clutch , which had excited the cover and flew off down the hill. No amount of bodging could fix it! It was a long push/ride home as it had peddles.

🤣 I hope you didn't have to push it back up the hill! 😳🤣

Yeah back in the late 70's, early 80's was when i began riding (63 now!), I passed my test in 1979 and have had many machines to date. Yeah pretty unbelievable the rocketing prices for older (classic) bikes nowadays, as you stated, buying say a Suzuki GT500 was a few hundred quid, now they go for thousands! Even the lowest peice of rusty shit is commanding 1K to 1.5k on average for something under the title "Historic vehicle" ha ha ! Something we would scrap without a thought! Oh well that was a different era wasn't it?

It's LC prices that get me! I think I paid £700 for my first 350, now they are £7000! A tidy 500LC is £15k plus now, it's crazy 😮

@@MrDesmonickYes sadly most of our well known and loved machines of that era have become well out of our reach unless you are wealthy!
