Im glad im not the only one going back and forth trying to find the perfect clutch adjustment 😂.

Yeah, I couldn’t leave it alone. Ended up being alittle higher then I wanted. Due to the cold weather and how fluid expands

Thank you for your video! Bought a used 2016 HRV with a manual and the clutch was set to where my knee would touch my chest before it would engage 😂

God this is the most annoying problem I have on my ej6 hatch. Every 10k-12k miles I get grinding then soon after impossible to put into gear. Brand new clutch brand new trans. I like mi engagement low but I wonder if too low causes this to get thrown out of place more often cuz maybe I go to shift too early or I don't know transmission stuff is my weakness I do mostly motor work. Why do I have to adjust it so often?? Thanks for showing how you do it.

Really only once, you only need to keeping adjusting it to find the height you prefer. If you have to keep adjusting it. Your clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder is probably going bad. And losing pressure

Master or slave may be bad ^ I had the same issue and didn't realize til they failed

Nice video! My client's own had a similar issue so I bleed the clutch and still to no avail. I've even replaced only the kit inside the upper clutch but the problem of a sponge clutch and no gear still persist. I've checked scrutingly for signs of leakage carefully while someone pressed the clutch, i found out that the down clutch nipple doesn't hold clutch hydraulic fluid! It goes out gently, and also the clutch fluid was replaced with a new one. Nevertheless, it's still very darkened in color. Please, how do I fix the issues? Darkened fluid, soft clutch pedal, and a most especially the leak at the down clutch bleeder or nipple.

You see what he did when he put it in reverse, he double clutched the pedal and it went right in gear. That's what I was trying to explain to you.
@jamessettles64856 ай бұрын
if you have to double clutch then its not adjusted right

Just to clarify… When you first adjusted it you were able to cold start the car fine on colder mornings, but then it wouldn’t go back into gear once you moved the selector to the next gear? Or was it just first gear you couldn’t get back into? It seems like doing it this way would require restarting the car each time you stopped at an intersection or in traffic. That would get you to work, but it would make for an annoying drive.
@RocketGarageService2 жыл бұрын
Yeah man, I had it on the edge of being able to put it in all gears. Really depended on temps. I ended up having to keep adjusting.
@fomoco300k2 жыл бұрын
@@RocketGarageService So, it would start in gear but not shift if it was too cold?
@RocketGarageService2 жыл бұрын
@@fomoco300k Correct, once the fluid got warm and expanded a little I was good. But like you said, its annoying and not practically. Just got to find there fine line.

@@RocketGarageService I have a 93' accord 5 speed and I drove my car with it doing this. I had a problem getting it to go into 1st gear and sometimes reverse Trying to shift into 1st when the car was cold was a problem. It was like the clutch was barely disengaging just enough to change gears. The shifting is fine when it's warmed up. The only gear i would have trouble with shifting into is 1st gear when the car was already warmed up. Every time i would need to stop, I would slow down to a slow roll and as i' m slowing down at the same time i would push the gear shift lever into 1st gear. It would slide-in if you come to a slow roll before you would stop.😊

@RocketGarageService4 ай бұрын
Maybe it is how google translated the Spanish to English. But adjusting the "bolt" only changes where the clutch dis-engages in the pedal. The clutch "in concept" isn't adjustable. The can only adjust where the pedal engages the clutch. For example Clutch height - low/med/high.

if it's so low you have to turn the car off to get it in gear, you went too far
@RocketGarageService28 күн бұрын
Correct, and the colder the worst. Due to fluid expansion. So in the summer you might find it great. But the first cold snap, if you have it set super low, it will give you issues.
