Honda Civic Mods | Replacing Headlamps & Bulbs | Amazon Headlamps | LasFit LED Headlight Bulbs

In today's video, I will show how to replace the headlamps on a 2006-2011 Honda Civic. In addition, I will be upgrading all of my headlamp bulbs with LEDS provided by LasFit. The bulbs I will be replacing include the low beams, high beams, and turn signals. The new LED bulbs are noticeably brighter than the dim halogen factory bulbs, so the upgrade is absolutely worth it!

Agreed 👍. The leds are A HUGE improvement in light output when used in a traditional reflective headlamp housing. ... and new headlamps sure do clean up the look of the Civic. Another mod done ✅ with a ton of others still left to do 😅

Awesome guide! I wanna get the same led bulbs for my 2010 but I heard these can blind other drivers. How would I avoid that?

The Honda Civic is pretty low to begin with (even with stock suspension), so using leds for the low beams shouldn't really be an issue... Worst case scenario, you can adjust where the light points... so you could always adjust your low beams to point downward more (there is a factory adjustment mechanism on the headlamps that you can perform with just a long phillips screwdriver 🪛). It's very easy to do 👍👍 I hope this info helps! 😁

Yes I did. You can adjust the headlights easily (with the housings & bulbs already installed) with a REALLY LONG Phillips screwdriver 🪛. Here is a good video that shows how. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mptif9Jy2bebm4U.html

No flickering in drl mode. The video frame rate is what is causing the flickering effect. In real life, there is no flickering and all of the leds have held up really well so far! 👍👍

What I really want are some custom retrofit jewel eye headlamps. Until that happens, I just wanted a simple upgrade to replace the old, hazy headlamps 😁👍

So far, the headlamps & LED bulbs are still performing well. No condensation inside the headlamp housings. No oxidation of the headlamp lenses. LED bulbs are still operational. Now, should I have the chance to upgrade to some custom $2,000+ jewel-eye retrofit headlamps, then I would swap these out in a heartbeat 🤣. But until then, I am happy with this setup.

Did the headlights trigger the DRL light on the dash?

Unfortunately, yes. Initially, I didn't have an issue... but now, my DRL light will randomly flash at times. It seems like it became more noticeable with the summer heat.

Having led high beams bulbs is a terrible idea. Even at high power as a drl, they are soooo bright, it’s equivalent to driving with your high beams on all day, and blind oncoming traffic, plus people in front of you have high beams shining in their rear view mirror, I hate it. Not sure why so many people don’t realize this!! Otherwise, the rest of the video is great!

Thanks! I threw out the old headlamps. I didn't need them... Eventually I will buy another set and do a jewel eye retrofit... but first I need to fix my A/C system 🤣

The reason I inquired is bc, I swapped out my old headlight assembly's and, I was curious about what you did with your old 1's! I have a 2014 Honda Accord Sport Sedan - 2.4L! So, I guess I'll be tossing my old 1's in the trash...lol

Nope. I haven't experienced a check engine light issue since I've owned this vehicle. No issues experienced with the exhaust or the intake either. 😁👍

Your videos are awesome and it’s actually perfect timing because i’m starting my mid my 2010 civic sedan EX i went with the same LED bulbs although i’m keeping the eagle eye headlight i plan on wrapping the car, getting a spec d exhaust and a few other mods. What wheel are going to go with?

Thanks! I currently have these wheels: www.anoviawheels.com/buy-wheel-offset/ART102188551143573SB/anovia-night-18x85-35 I just need to finish the video. They are 18" x 8.5" +35mm wrapped with some Falken Ziex ZE960 tires. Unfortunately these wheels rub the fenders, so I'm currently in the process of cutting fenders and adding fender flares for extra clearance. I have A TON of videos to start editing for the Honda Civic. New content will be out soon 😁.

You didn’t need a decoder for the high beams?

I didn't install one. The high beam led's still work for both the DRL function and the regular high beam function. However, if it's hot outside during the day, my DRL indicator on the instrument cluster will start to flash intermittently. Adding a decoder could definitely help resolve this issue, for sure 😁👍.

@franmyzamora3970 gotcha. Yeah, the leds I'm using for the high beams work... but if it's really hot outside, my DRL indicator will start to flash intermittently. It usually only happens during the summer months here in Texas. Otherwise, they work normally. Since my DRL indicator stays off for 8 months out of the year, I choose to live with it. I have not found a permanent solution to this issue yet... a decoder might resolve this problem. I'll have to look into it 😁👍.

Yes 👍. One year later, these headlamps & leds are still in great shape! No moisture build-up inside the lenses. Everything still looks brand new. The only thing I would change is the led turn signal bulb. I have hyper-flashing and have yet to find a led bulb that will eliminate this issue without having to wire resistors to the turn signal circuit. Otherwise, everything has been worth the money 👍

@@LevelUpMechanicswhy not try the led flasher relay? But then again, lasfit just recently solve the hyperflash issue. They made a new lasfit T3 series. And they have a matching wattage to meet or exceeds from hyperflashing. Which it makes 24 watts. Much brighter, but they made a soft super bright amber to be a bit more comfy. Rather than just pure bright. Plus it has not only with aluminum heat sink with 4 holes to have the heat escape, but they add a white ceramic cap on top for double heat dissipation and they have a built-in temperature circuit that’s much more efficient than the only one. Now the price is a bit higher. The old one are $54 a pair. Now it’s $65 a pair. A bit more pricey but this one will definitely work better than before. Lasfit listens to the lasfit led owners that has hyper flashing issues. And they delivered.

@@LevelUpMechanics heck yeah brother. I already send comments to lasfit about why not make a quick review for that? I’m running auxito T7440 Amber that are high performance super bright led turn signals. And they didn’t hyper flash. That why I go with them and it’s $20 less. Audit makes so many difference types of led turn signal bulbs. But I had a reason it’s affordable and very convenient. And it doesn’t give me hyperflash after running it for 20 minutes. I was thrilled seeing that. But I now realize why, because of that 24 watts it makes for each bulb. But I’m very happy lasfit finally answered the lasfit enthusiasts hyper flashing problem.

Each headlamp has an adjustment mechanism built in so that you can align the beam pattern (which can be done easily with a long Phillips screwdriver). As far as the headlamp "bodies" are concerned, they just bolt directly onto the Civic. 😁👍
