The Sony XAV-AX4000 or XAV-AX6000 should be good options to choose from. Just keep in mind that you would also need to purchase an iDatalink Maestro kit in order to keep your factory steering wheel controls (which would cost extra $$$).

@Student2024.4 You could always look into any of the Chinese "tablet style" stereo units that are floating around on Amazon / Ebay. They usually have wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto options & are usually compatible with your factory sound system components... the only downside is that the Chinese brands can be hit or miss (as far as quality). I actually have one of these tablet-style head units in my Toyota Tacoma, and I have not experienced any issues so far. Plus, they are more affordable than "name brand" stereos. 😁👍

You can never have enough lighting! BTW, have you had any DTC’s with the MAF with the unit you bought? I may consider buying one of those and get my money back. I’m also more in favor of picking up the air from the stock location under the battery in the fender/bumper area. Since I have an automatic transmission, the air box K&N built obstructs access to the dipstick, so I’d either have to install an access panel under the filter so I can check ATF any time. Little things add up.

I’m not impressed with the K&N Typhoon I just got from Amazon. The welds are horrible and don’t justify the stratospheric price of $350. Paint and grinding them wouldn’t help, I think I see two voids in the pipe where the weld went through the metal, but the puddle didn’t flow into it to fill the holes.

The bed retainer clip just snaps out, and the new one just snaps in. The wire harness connectors up front are all different sizes / shapes, so there really isn't a way to mix them up. The wire harness also has a grommet already installed on the harness, so all you have to do is take the "old plug" out from under the seat and route the harness through the hole. I hope this info helps! 😁

I bought this same kit for my 22 TRD sport. 6 ft bed came with a short bed harness. When I brought it back to the dealership they said not to worry about it and that it will fit. I'm still baffled by why tf Toyota would make a different one in the first place? I still have not installed because I don't trust the parts department worker

Just to put your mind at ease, when I installed the short bed version, I still had quite a bit of excess wire harness length that I had to loop & secure underneath the bed of the truck. There is a very good chance that the parts guy was right. I would risk it and go ahead with the installation. 😁👍

What model Tacoma do you have? I have a 2021 TRD offroad and connot find Molle panels that will work on that factory bed
@LevelUpMechanics
@LevelUpMechanics 20 күн бұрын
My tacoma is a 2017 TRD Sport. Most Tacoma bed molle panel systems state that they're not compatible on the driver side if you don't have a storage cubby... However, you could still probably make them work with additional modifications (I would drill holes and install rivet nuts & spacers for the bottom mounting bolts).
