I've been dying to get a chance to do a Honda CRF300L test ride and first impressions since the day they were announced, and thanks to my neighbor who bought one I was finally able to make it happen. I had a blast test riding the all new Honda CRF300 L and in this video I'll give you my thoughts about it as I ride both on the street and on the gravel. As many of you know, I used to own a Honda CRF250L so I've been very curious how the new 300L would compare, so there are a ton of Honda CRF300L vs Honda CRF250L thoughts and impressions in this video, as well.
Overall, I was not at all surprised by how it felt to ride the Honda CRF300L. Like my Honda CRF250L, the 300L is an approachable, smooth, beginner-friendly bike that's very capable in all kinds of situations. Comparing Honda CRF250L vs CRF300L, one of the biggest differences I noticed was in the top end power. At highway speeds I was able to accelerate in sixth gear on the 300L where my old 250L definitely struggled to do so.
Disadvantages to the 2021 Honda CRF300L that I noticed on my test ride were some of the same complaints I had about my old 250L. The seat is hard and uncomfortable and the suspension is squishy compared to other dual sports, but otherwise I feel like this awesome new dual sport is a great bike that is super approachable and beginner friendly while remaining capable and fun to ride even for more experienced riders. I'm hopeful I'll get to spend a bit more time on this Honda CRF300L in the future and bring you even more content on it!
