Don Schlonski GC engines are residential grade. Warranty is typically 3 years for residential use and 1 year or even 90 days for commercial use. Gx series engines are generally warrantied for 3 years commercial use. gx engines are made for heavy duty continued use. Nothing wrong with a GC engine, I own them along with gx series engines, but will not last as, because they use interior air filters, aluminum bores, non hardened crank shafts, etc

Honda says these are among the first engines of theirs to be built in the USA. You are saying these engines are different quality than say the ones in the EU2000i?

Ought the mention one MAJOR thing EU2000i uses GX series engine while EG28000i uses GC, avoid if you can GC Honda engine, I have one in my lawn mower and pressure washer, see metal shaving every single time on oil change, can't believe Honda believe GC is worthy to have Honda label on it, IMHO.

I agree. This is helpful but a phone app showing dB would have been really helpful.

@@theepicpeguin i have them both. I live off grid. The noise level is a defrent pitch but not louder. Maybe a meter can hear it but its not noticeable by ear. Even under load. But the suit case hondas are built woth a better motor. Better internally... i have almost 10k hours on my 2000 inverter. It still runs. My gens run every day. The 2800 isnt ment for everyday use so i only use it every once in a while and for about 16 hours at a time. Just to be safe

@@MrDavidelliottjr thanks for your input. I purchased the 2800 because it was less expensive to the 2200. I live off grid too and was using a sportsman 1000 watt generator for 2 months and it has about 130-ish hours on it, wasn't enough power so I got the 2800 for 1080$ not so long ago. I hope it isn't as bad a choice as others like to mention due to the engine. Only time will tell. I expect it to run 12 to 16 hours a day, at least.

Mine eg2800i says "MADE IN CHINA" AND It like the eu2000i has had a recall notice issued as of December 2017 the leak gas out of the fuel bowl and have been catching fire, some have exploded ... EB2800i model: EAAA-1000037-through EAAA-1015421... EG2800I MODEL. EABA-2000047-EABA-2020152... YOU CAN FIND THIS RECALL INFO ON HONDA POWER EQUIPMENT WEBPAGE..

And the Eu2000i is made in Thailand...
