Thanks for this. I'm not much of a mechanic and usually pay to have someone do all this maintenance for me. You made this look so easy I'm gonna attempt these myself and save me the labor cost. Thanks to your asistant as well for all the fine camera work. ;) All the best!

You're welcome and my "assistant" says thanks. It's not difficult and saving the labor cost is definitely a benefit during Carter 2.0... I hope it goes well for you. Thanks for watching!

Outstanding Video Sir! Informative, to the point and all the correct information needed to service on my TRX500FA. Reminds me of days when me and my dad would work on projects together while learning skill sets for life. God Bless.

I can't tell you how many people I've seen install the oil filter spring and seat washer on top of the oil filter in these KZfaq videos, good job.

Thanks! I tried to help people who watch get it right. My Pioneer video has a segment where I discover that the dealership that serviced it completely left the spring and washer out. Thanks for watching!

Well done and shown, Tony. I don't have a 4-wheeler but it's interesting to me anyway. I had the same thought as PWH about 5 qts of oil used. When I work under my riding lawn mower, I drive it up on a couple of 2x6's. That little bit of extra height sure helps me work easier. I also toss down a piece of cardboard to lay on. You're a lot tougher and younger than me! Thanks for the well done instructional video. That's gotta be a nice help for those that need it.

Thanks, Rick. I thought someone might find it useful especially since people don't grow up working on equipment and vehicles any more. I have some ramps but they're packed...somewhere. LOL! I wanted some cardboard but my wife confiscated all of it for weed control in the garden. Laying on the gravel wasn't too bad since it's been packed down pretty well. Most days I don't feel very young...lots of miles.

TONY, I HAVE FOUND THAT IF YOU TAKE A SIECE OF 3/8" FUEL HOSE ABOUT 4" OR SO LONG, IT CAN BE PUSHED OVER THE GLASS PART OF THE PLUG TO ALLOW UNSCREWING & REINSERTING OF THE PLUG. IF YOU WORK ON MANY HEMI MITIRS THIS SAVES MUCH TIME & AGRIVATION. EXCELLENT VIDIO BILL P.

That's a good idea. Now, if I knew where my hose selection was packed...

The tool kit that came with my Honda had a spark plug socket. That made removing the plug relatively easy.

You're right! I was working out of my truck toolbox and didn't even think about the tool kit on the bike. That's a good reminder to check all available resources. Thanks for watching!

Good video! Was impressed by your mobility, as an older man I have problems with doing anything from the ground and shoulders been hurt way too many times so some things very difficult for me.

Thanks! The secret's in the editing, LOL! A video filled with me moaning and groaning wouldn't be too fun to watch... I have a portable lift but it's at our shop 30 miles away and doesn't work well on gravel. Once we're done with our house a shop with a nice concrete floor is next. Thanks for watching!

Good information. I would suggest changing the front and rear differential oil every year, REGARDLESS. In the Honda 500/520 machines it takes little over a half a quart to change both differential oils. I recommend 75 W 90 Synthetic gear oil. Wal-Mart has it for $15.50 a quart. (Cheap insurance, and it’s not going to break the bank)

I've never owned a 4wheeler and have often considered one, but I'm not sure I actually need one since we use the Gator every day as it is. I found the service interesting. I would have never thought it would take almost 5 quarts of oil. It's about time for me to do my yearly Gator service and clean up on it.

It's pretty useful for tighter terrain and when Libby is using the SXS. The mount on the back basket is for a chainsaw so it's handy to clear fence and trails. It takes that much oil because it has a hydraulic transmission. It's a pretty neat system. Honda calls it the Hondamatic. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kKpnmd15376Vlo0.html

If yours is carbureted like mine, there is no fuel filter unless an inline has been added. There are screens in the petcock and carb inlet. Here's a video on a fuel injected Rancher 420 - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a6iil8WK15rPhpc.html . Thanks for watching!
