Funny, I've cleaned a lot of carbs and brought many mowers back to life by doing so. I just had a friend drop off this exact same mower. He was gonna throw it out, but I told him I'd fix it and donate to charity of some type. It wouldn't start at all. When I filled it with gas and turned the gas shut-off valve on, gas started leaking from the carb (was thinking stuck needle). I cleaned the carb (just with carb cleaner) and could see where the needle was getting stuck. I cleaned that all out, removed the main jet and emulsion tube and sprayed it with cleaner as well. Where I couldn't see daylight before in the tube and jet, I could after I was done. I put it all together and it did exactly what the one in your video did; it started and then shut off almost immediately. And I thought the same thing you did - not getting enough gas. I'd forgotten that it's a good idea to run a piece of wire through it as well. I had not cleaned a carb in a minute now, so it slipped my mind. After seeing your video, I went back and did that. Once I was done, like you, I could feel the difference with the wire passing through from when I started passing it through the first time until I was done. I put it back together and it's running like a champ. Well done with your process and the video overall. Thx.

Great repair Bill on the Honda! I like that Honda puts a nice fuel shut off valve on their engines. Wish other manufacturers did that , as it sure would save alot of unnecessary carb cleans! 👍🇺🇸

I remember back in the day when I Saw a Honda engine on a Honda mower that was full of bad gas in the tank I told the guy who was going to be working on it that the gas was bad they put new gas in the tank and it fixed the problem with the no start issues with it

There you go! Our pressure washer with a Briggs automatic choke motor would run till the choke kicked out. I didn't have enough hands to work everything or I might've gotten it unstopped by feathering the choke but i pulled the carb off and cleaned it out and it ran fine then but now I haven't had a chance to work on it in two years and I know it's going to be a mess but my ducks never get in a row. Obstinate suckers. Geezerishness does that to a person. You did good as usual so remain calm and stay in the freezer if you need to!

No air filter or aftermarket pre screen, but put fuel filter in😊 Was the carburettor OEM or aftermarket?
