The one pit fall of the S90 was the chain , if it got loose an came off it could fold up between the trans case and drive sprocket leading to cracking the trans case , I came by one that I got fixed with a tig but seen blown out bad ones that could not be fixed .

I had a 1966 an with a south wind and heading north while laying down on the seat got 76 MPH that was the only time I tried it lol , I still miss the S90 , I think it was the best small bike Honda ever made and it only cost me $380 nearly my whole summers wages .

Thanks for the memories! I had one of these back in the 60’s. It was my only means of transportation then as I couldn’t afford a car. It was so much fun to ride! I still miss it. By the way, I am a 73 year old female.

Correct, the US version did not have turn signals or the rocker gear lever. 8.5 hp and earliest flyers said 9 hp ( 1964). your trans does not sound as smooth as it should..but the engine brings back memories of 20,000 miles I put on the 90 and later the CL-90 between early 1965 and 1969. top speed with stock gearing is 62 mph .. rode a lot 2 up.. no complaints at all.

They only weigh about 200 pounds

A 65 S90 was my first motorcycle. Of course the engines are beat, you drove around with the throttle wide open all the time if you wanted to get anywhere.

The Honda S90 and the Yamaha Twin jet 100 were the two nicest small bikes around in mid 60's

What freedom looked like in 1965...

I bought a S90 in 1965, I couldn't afford to keep up my car as a student. I sold my car for around four hundred and bought an S90. After riding it about a year I started hanging around with guys that had big Triumphs and was shamed into getting a Honda Scrambler. I had so much fun on the 90 and my Scrambler was stolen reducing me to the bus.

the Bike came out great ! i have a 1964 S90 to restore it was my Dads who put it into indoor storage in 1965 still all original with good Compression but needs the usual TLC of a 57 year old Motorcycle

December 1966 was when I bought my red S90, my first motorcycle, because I could not afford to buy a car. Yes, it was a great little bike, and I rode it for 1 1/2 years as my only set of wheels. I did meet some of the nicest people on my Honda.

i bought some land and found an orange one of these rusting away last year. at least I think its an s90 since i have no knowledge of motorcycles and just googled "old honda motorcycle"

I was one of those kids that beat on my 90 pretty bad. Once, I'm ashamed to say, I even managed to seize the engine, 'cos as a16 year old I didn't bother to check the oil level, just revved the guts out of it everywhere I went. Oh, the recklessness of youth! Had fun on that little bike though.

Thanks for the video , I have my Dads 1964 Honda S90 that has been stored inside since 1965 my Dad never really rode the bike so it’s got very low miles and is complete It does have the blinkers and flared front and rear fenders made out of some type of plastic I haven’t quite discovered what it really is. It’s very fragile feeling perhaps because of age or maybe that’s just the technology they had back then I’ve actually been watching KZfaq videos on how to make Silicone molds and I’m thinking about using mine to make Fiberglass reinforced copies to me the Fenders are the coolest parts as they look like Harley Road Glide fenders Honda tried to copy to give the little bike a bigger appearance my Dad didn’t ride this bike much because he really wanted a Dream or Baby Dream like one of his brothers rode who eventually moved up to a Honda 750 four to make it more comfortable to ride with his wife and keep up with his Harley riding buddies inthe 1970s I’ve owned 4 or 5 Honda’s myself and one of my favorites was a 750 four which I thought had great power to weight performance around town and onthe highway it also allowed me to add big bike accessories like a tandem seat with backrest and luggage racks (aftermarket ) I appreciate the info on all the different parts Honda used onthe 90s I’ve been kind of thinking about hoarding several to use for parts bikes

How does it ride on the freeway? I have 2 Honda S90 that I will soon be restoring.

What do these sell for today? One popped up locally and it looks to be complete and unrestored.
