it's to simulate mud, wet leafs, or what ever would be slick enough to stop three of your wheels from turning, allowing only one wheel with traction to grab. I don't know what kind of riding you do (Seems kinda wussy) but this is related to conditions you could easily find in the fall or spring time let alone winter with slippery snow everywhere. sometimes one wheel grabbing that one spot is how you make it through or over whatever it is stopping you.

If your in the woods you will have some momentum. I used to have a canam 450 and it needed a whole new top end at 3300 kms, i also did sink it, however the foreman 450 I had before was sunk 3 times and was even upside down in a flooded ditch and it has over 8000 miles on it and it still runs great! Honda for the win all day and everyday. Another thing is that Honda’s are way easier to work on then any canam I have ever seen

it shouldn’t need a top end rebuild that early on unless you ran the engine after sinking it. My outlander 570 had 2600 miles and the motor ran like a clock, my outlander 850 has 800 miles and runs just as good. Definitely something you did wrong with it

Well, BRP didn't start making ATVs until 98 and they weren't called Can-Am until 2007. So... Yeaaaaaaaah. I love how everyone clings to the "It'll last forever" argument with Honda. The only good thing about Honda is they don't have a CVT and they even managed to somehow make that less than impressive. I've never seen a Honda do anything awesome. Actually, I take that back, it is an awesome sight to see my buddy Bobby waiting on us with that glorious cooler strapped to his machine, waiting to give us a cold beer. See, he carries the beer so it doesn't get all shaken up because his Honda won't go through the stuff everybody else does. Long story short, I don't know if you ski or not, but you'd last forever too if you stayed on the bunny slopes.

I call BS on that demo,, A- the Honda's front tire was kept in constant contact with the obstacle and you could see it was trying to crawl over, B- the Can Am was allowed to bounce off and build momentum to go over the obstacle. If he would have let the Honda do the same thing, it would have gotten over not problem.

When I was a teenager we had 2-wheel drive 3- wheelers, then came 2-wheel drive 4-wheelers. We climbed up everything and hardly ever got stuck! After 34 years experience of operating all kinds of chain and shaft drive machines, if you can't climb it with a 2-wheel drive, you simply don't know how to drive! If you hit a dead stop like this on the trail, just back up and get a few feet run at it, you'll get over it
@justinlenox5687
@justinlenox5687 6 жыл бұрын
honda reliability is far better than can am when it's in the shop the honda will be on the trail and all you have to do is apply a small amount of front brake pressure to the honda and it locks the front diff plus when the visco lock system gets some hours on it the fluid loses its viscosity then your back to 3 wheel drive until you change the diff fluid

Dude, I think can am has some really cool, fast and good sounding machines but would go with a honda, why? Well reliability, price, parts, you name it. Plus....if you look closely the can am had a gap in between the tire and the bar. Yes it got over because it had a small running start, the Honda was all the way up against the bar and the dude leaned on the Honda and it came right off. This should actually show the Honda is better but can am....I guess

THE MUD BOGGER yea I did actually otherwise I wouldn't have said it lol. If pay attention, he eases the Honda up to the bar then gets on the gas, the can am, he hits the gas 2 times causing it to bounce of the bar a little bit before he actually stays on the gas. Even with that the can am barely made it over. But I do agree that they need Lockers in the front

Easy.... buy a Honda with a diff lock, problem solved, Can Am and Polaris, sure they ride plush and are fast, i'll take my Honda that will last forever.... I have a 2003 that runs like a top and just bought another Rancher..... My cousin has gone thru 3 diff Polaris's in the same time...… all with differential issues...… Don't know much about Can Am but I do know I will NEVER spend my money on a Polaris

With the Honda just pull the front brake slightly and from the help of the LS in the diff you start to use the brake force from the slipping wheel to drive the traction wheel, that is what I do with my 2017 Honda Rancher 420 4x4 DCT IRS. Note that it’s not a full locking differential it’s just a trick to overcome a traction difference.

I own a 2018 can am renegade xmr 1000r. Love it,but you can't take away from honda. If you buy a Forman or Rubicon they have a better on demand front locking diffirential system than can am. And if you are out on a hill climbing rocky terrain you will want to be on a honda, grizzly, arctic cat, or king quad with on demand front locking diffirential over any can am. Believe me I know we climb stuff all of the time. Now when it comes to mud can am and polaris has a good front locking system doing it automatically for you. Love the video by the way

This guy is a hell of a sales man. I will only speak of my time on the trail. My group of friends had every atv brand under the sun. My buddy with his can am was in limp mode 70% of the time. He ended up going to yamaha. His can am was impressive when it ran, but he went back to camp way more than the rest of us. Our back to camp trips was flat tires, or something stupid like loose exhaust. His was limp mode due to some sensor that was freaking out. For me in my experience I don't trust can am to be there for me when I need it.

The Honda will last 15 years longer and want break every time you take it out like I said I have a can am it’s always breaking I have a 110 atc from 1982 original Honda 3 wheeler still runs great to this day so buying a Honda is the way to go hands down and like I said my 680 all I half to do is grab the right break handle a little bit and my Honda locks in the front

Personally I've only used my rancher on my small farm and riding it to my neighbors house about a mile down the blacktop but I've never had any issues with it. My neighbor on the other hand bought a can am 1000 and it stays in the shop, and he's an older man in his 70's so I know he's not hard on it. He comes and gets my Honda at least once a month or just uses his old mule side by side.

Lifelong Honda owner here and just bought a Can Am a year ago! This guy isn’t entirely correct on either. First the Honda is not cheaper. I was able to buy a Outlander 650 brand new for $1000 less than the new Foreman 520. The difference is quality. Can Am isn’t bad quality but I can tell this isn’t going to be one I get 30,000 miles of hard riding out of. It’s comparable to Yamaha, Kawasaki, and better than Polaris. But no Honda. And “clicking” that 4 wheel drive switch is pretty awkward on it when you’re in a pinch. Can Am is definitely got them all in power and handling. But my next will be a Foreman 520. I’m not a fan of wrenching and not riding.

Can-ham has a limited slip front diff locker. (Basically the same as the 420) The difference is that on a Can-ham the left side is locked and right side not locked (when behind the bars). The Honda’s is locked on the right side and not locked on the left side (When behind the bars). This test was made for the Can-ham. This test was BS

You damn well know he was not accelerating enough when he was on the Honda. You can see the tire about to jump over “the log”... both are good brands I would seriously consider both not just Honda and this is coming from a guy that was given his first ATV at 12 years old and it was a Honda recon. But sometimes demonstrators can be “funny”

The can am didn’t lock. Right wheel was spinning twice the speed of the left wheel. Diff was slipping. There is a vid that shows the Polaris sportsman vs the can am. Sportsman is the only one that truly pulls with all 4 wheels and can be driven full time in awd, no need to stop and lock. Re watch the video that can am clearly is 3wd. He rocked it over.

I'm not sure if this guy knows the difference or not but the 4 wheel drive setup on any can am is the very same thing, (only 1 tire pulls in front) Why can't people be honest and say that? Polaris and many other ATV brands now have true 4-wheel drive meaning either front diff lock or like Polaris, AWD. Can-Am is the one that lacks true 4-wheel drive.

The best made ATV ever is a Honda. They last forever. That’s why CanTAm’s always have engine problems in deep water. My 02 Honda TRX450es Foreman is bulletproof. Recommend services, Gas and giving her hell is all my Honda asks from me. This winter I’ve been restoring the ole girl. Adding an additional 6 inch lift with my current lift for a total of 12 inches. A new set of rims with tractor tires. All I’m gonna do is add a jetted carb and tune up. Almost a 20 year old quad that doesn’t leak a drop of oil in and she idles like a sowing machine. Ohh and my Honda was Assembled in South Carolina!

His assistant did not have to take that call, he just did not want to be part of that snake oil your selling. I own 2 can ams a 650 and 450 also a 400 suzuki king quad. Im thinking to switch back to Honda. When it doesn't go in gear you have to rock it with your body back-and-forth and it will go into gear. I have a 2019 can am outlander max 650 and a 2020 outlander 450 in yellow and you have to rock it at times forward and back to get the wheels to move. Like a hip thrust action. I think its stupid but thats how can am makes them. If I'm loading my can ams onto my trailer and attempt to put them in park it might not engage to park unless I rock it. My 2019 suzuki 400 shifts like butter. No issues. Can ams clunk chatter when start and you may discover all kind of weird noises coming out of the machine. The back end of my 450 was howling one day for no reason. I thought it was haunted. Welcome to can am World. I come from the Honda atv world and I'm scared of my can ams because I think one day im going to be stranded.
