OK, picture me watching that "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper" image. I'm well old enough to remember Hangin' with Mr. Cooper the TV show, and though I have not seen this film, I did read a synopsis and know a lot of what happens in it. I thought it was a neat title card referring to just spending some time (in the film) with Bradley Cooper. But I was wondering after several views why that amusing title card was over a nondescript shot of a pickup and dog sitting in front of a closed garage. You... "dark turn." Me (after about a second): oooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhh Now it's even better... :D Thank you!

I know the remake jokes were, well, jokes, but I think this is the perfect example of a warranted reboot. It’s a story that can flourish in a variety of settings, offering relevant commentary in each era it’s produced, since the entertainment industry is always changing. But it can still let the theme of image and expectations really shine.

I still haven't actually seen the movie, but I've at least gotten the impression that part of the thing with the character is she has this naturally incredible voice, but her looks aren't necessarily that sort of universal "beauty" of a typical pop star, right? And, though I don't listen to Lady Gaga's music, she's like a real world parallel of that, no? I always thought that was part of why she's so about those elaborate artificial, extreme outfits, she doesn't have the prettiest face so she needs a lot of pizaaz

Kevin W Gaga’s beauty is in passionate performance. I’ve bought a song or two she’s done, but I mostly like the way she comports herself as a performer, and she’s kind to kids. She doesn’t seem to have an overwhelming ego, personally, and other than her publicity stunts like the meat dress, she hasn’t showed up much in the news or tabloids for the usual spread of celebrity scandal. She’s probably working too hard to have time. All of that is unusual in the entertainment biz. Good enough for me.
