Specifically for Cara Dun, she is a jaded ex-soldier who has no faith in the leadership of the rebellion/New Republic. The Rebellion was a broad organization with many cells. She probably heard stories about Luke bu figured they were just propaganda. I really don’t think it is unreasonable.

No really, seeing her return the lightsabers to the Alderaan debris ring world be pretty affecting, at least in comparison. "Here is what we fought to prevent" and all that. But then Star Wars would have to acknowledge that Leia existed which seemed to be a real problem for them.

@@SimonBuchanNz I don’t think Alderaan makes any sense. I feel that she was honouring the Skywalker family in general. Luke, Leia, and Ben. Alderaan has absolutely no meaning to anyone other than Leia. The ancestral home of the family makes sense for that.

True. Plus, it seems like Baby Yoda is very advanced in a lot of other areas. It seems kind of strange that he would be a baby for so long, though.

@@rachele3334 If you assume his species develops like a human but slower. They may have a very different developmental path.

If 1 Yoda years equals (approximately) 25 human years, then original Yoda would have been developmentally 35. While he seemed much older, I guess fighting in war and spending 2 decades in a swamp doesn’t lead to good aging.

Now that we know a lil more. Seems fair to assume Grogu is plenty smart, just nobody ever taught him how to speak.

Really, this is a strange disconnect that's been in Star Wars for a long time now. The Jedi led the Clone Wars and were directly involved in the action across hundreds of planets, yet somehow, ~20 years later everyone has forgotten about them and\or doesn't believe the Force even exists. You can assume that the Emperor used some sort of disinformation campaign or actively censored history teachings, but it's never really been addressed. (And sure, the mundane reality is that this is merely another continuity issue caused by Lucas not really knowing the series backstory before making Episode IV, but that's no fun. It seems like a plot hole worth filling in at some point.)
