@@gerry.shafer6101 I can't change it out because I live in a rental. But someone told me how to simplify it. Press HOLD and then set the temp, then it acts like a simple thermostat. I'm glad you got help and you're good to go!😊

Make sure on the screen it doesn’t say heat on. Then set it to the temp you want and press hold

@@jrickg9024 Arrows do not work when you turn it to off. I turn it on and then arrows work. I hit hold and it says hold on both lower and higher temp. I hate this damn thing. If I can't get it working, I'm changing it back to a basic one that always worked. Batteries to save some money and in turn lose my mind. No thanks I'm freezing.

Hi, what you are seeing is the thermostat going back to its normal idle screen which displays the current room temperature. It still holds the desired set point temp. i adjusted to before i hit the Hold button. Hope this helps you out, Thanks

Hi, i would just make sure that your times and temps are what you desire. Go very slowly through them one by one. One common issue is not realizing that AM and PM are not set correctly because of how small the text on the display is. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

Hi, I tried replicating this on my own thermostats, and the time periods blinks as a reminder that a temporary set point adjustment has been executed from the last time it was set in RUN mode (tempurature was manually overridden with the arrow buttons at some point). The blinking is only an indicator that there was a previous attempt to override. Nothing is wrong with the thermostat. In order for it to not blink you will have to hit RUN once again and in will default back to the normal programmed setpoints you have set for each time period and day .

The Fan mode should always be left in "Auto". Just to be safe. Even if its for heat only or cool only. Fan mode is really only utilized only if you have force hot air or central AC in your house. If you have forced hot water baseboard heating it does not serve any function. Unless it was custom wired for some other function. When in the "ON" position it energizes a circuit in the thermostat and if something connected (normally a fan for your heat/cooling ducts for air circulation) to that terminal it may turn something on unknowingly.

Well it offers the ultimate flexibility for day to day heating and cooling needs. So that a person can customize each day of the week to fit their schedule precisely. Honeywell does make a 5+2 and basic manual "left and right" versions as well. I love my 7 day thermostat. Thanks for watching!

Roun, Im a 60 year old female and I am installing this thermostat on the video. Last night I installed a thermostat that after I was done found out it does not work with auxillary heating, which I have, so I went to bed at 3:00 am frustrated to no end and woke up at 8:00 am to head to home depot to buy the right thermostat. Girl, I was fit to be tied but determined I was going to do this myself. When I was reading the comments and saw what you said I have never laughed so hard 😅🤣😂. You must program each peroid of the day accordingly for it to stay on at the desired temp. 2 hours of a time span may or may not do it. Once out of that 2 hours window it will continue to follow what ever is programmed on the schedule afterwards

If the thermostat switch is set to heat and nothing is happening you need to make sure no one turned off the breaker for your heating system if separate from the cooling system. Also check the emergency on/off switch, usually its put in a utility room or near the basement stairs. Does the thermostat display say "Heat on"? Cool air coming out of your vents could be a number of things. Not sure what type of system you have i really can not give you any help. I made a video about my own issue with drafty vents, my vents would pour out very cold air and i had to cover them to keep the house warmer.

What is the actual temp of the room indicated by the thermostat? Is there direct sunlight hitting the thermostat? Does the thermostat display indicate "heat on" on settings below 79? Try dialing it to the temp you want and hit the Hold button. Otherwise there could be an issue with your heating system or thermostat wiring and not the thermostat itself.

Mine did that at 75, but didn't stay on to heat the house. It's still off and we're freezing. I like my old thermostat much better. The room temp is at 64, no sunlight on it, says heat on, and I set it to 67 now and hit the hold button. There is something wrong with this thermostat and definitely not my heating equipment. This thermostat is just crap. Never had trouble with my old one, changed this to save money on electric, not oil. Now I really saving on both because it does not work.

When that happens, press the up or down arrow only once to see what is the programmed setpoint. Its very easy to skip a period or have it misadjusted when programming it.

@@JohnFrancoNH How come the heater never turns on anytime I use the hold button? I have to have the temperature to at least 75 and even then it won't stay on for long. If I turn it higher it will, but then it gets way too hot in the house. It's newly installed, so I know it works. It used to have set temperatures as default that would male it go on and off all day. For example if it was set to 68 at 2pm it would automatically turn on and stay on for that period. I'm not a fan of the set option, and preferred a permanent temperature that I can manually adjust. That's what brought me here. What would you advise?

Adjust it to the temp you want, then press HOLD. Then the next day press RUN to resume with the normal program time & temp schedule.

If its the 7 day model it really was designed and intended for that purpose. Honeywell makes completely manual thermostat without programming as well. The only way around programming is to use the HOLD button. After you hit hold and hold shows up on the screen, the current temp of the room will then be displayed immediately after it goes into hold mode. This is what may be confusing you, its not changing the set point at all. If you reset it to factory default you are going to have the same issue but with set points that are not tailored to your liking. HOLD mode is the only way to make it function as a manual style thermostat.

To confirm your set point after "Hold" shows up on the screen. Let the thermostat display the current temp by not touching any buttons for 20-30 seconds and then press the up or down arrow button just once. It should display the set point that it is holding.

You cant, its a programmable thermostat by design. You can only override it, by using the Hold button after adjusting to the temp you desire

I just watched a video and it told me how to get rid of the schedule. Go to set, then hold down the hold button until it clears on screen. Repeat this for every day, then it will override the schedule... or you can just set the temperature the same for every day if you can't get that to work

This video covers programming of the thermostat not diagnosis of a a/c system not working. But here are some things to check. Does your thermostat say "cool on"? If not make sure its it switched to the "Cool" mode. Some a/c systems have a time delay to prevent the compressor from over cycling. Wait 10 mins, after that point if it doesnt start up and the thermostat still says "cool on" you have might have to call a hvac tech to check out your system there could be something wrong with it. And your thermostat may not be the source of the issue Thanks for watching!
