I hate this thermostat

To everyone trying to figure this out, just click “Hold” after setting temperature.

I have a friend who doesn’t know how to send this, I couldn’t figure it out either, and the air conditioning always wanted to stay on, even though I would set the temperature higher and press the hold button. I guess you don’t have to hold the hold button down for long, like I was doing, you just press it once. Thanks so much!

I like the hold override because you set it to whatever you want and it stays there and will only kick on when it goes below your temperature

I moved into a rental and they had it set at 65 in Arizona which was causing my bill to be double! This video saved my wallet, thank you so much. Was able to remove the hold function and set it to a normal temperature.

Greetings from Portland, Maine…Feb. 3, 2023 @ 10 p.m…..arctic blast this weekend through Monday…..-18 right now and high winds from the White Mts., blowing down the lake. We’re expecting a predicted low of -21 tonight (wind chill…-40) and -22 tomorrow night. I’ve never experienced this sudden a drop, even growing up in Boston. Another climate change adventure I could have passed on! John, you’re saving my life tonight with this video…the exact information that I needed confirmed…the manual over-ride to turn on additional electric baseboard heat (now that the inside temp is heading toward 56 degrees) despite my 2021 Mitsubisi high heat pump cranking at 75 degrees (usually set at 65 max). I haven’t used the electric baseboard heat in two years, so I was going by memory to over-ride the Honeywell to start the heat via Temporary. I had copies of this model’s user manual on my laptop (now on the disabled list) and downloaded to my iPhone ( Safari was preventing the file from opening)…Murphy’s Law! I have the paper copy filed away, but I needed the info ASAP. Thought of KZfaq…one of man’s best IT developments! John, you came to the rescue….THANKS! I did remember the Hold vs Run button functions…but the Leave message was displaying at the bottom of the window. I must have pushed both buttons thinking I was clearing the pre-set. Thanks to you, I’m back on track…the thermostat is set at 72 ….the baseboards are putting out heat and it’s now a comfortable 65 degrees! I think I detected a bit of a Maine accent. I’m “from away”, so I’m attuned to certain words. Am I right? I’m now subscribed and will look for your other instructional videos. Thanks again! JMullen…your newest fan club member. Thank you, I really enjoyed your video, it was very informative. My husband installed this thermostat. We live in the Chicago area, we still have our heat on. I set the temperature to HOLD, the heat would kick on then it seemed as though the thermostat started to malfunction, I set the temperature to 77, the room temperature would drop to 70 a 73 before the heat would come on. Now the heat won’t kick on at all.

Actually, it's simple to set up manual temporary. Just use up or down button to set up temperature, and then posh Hold button. Then the Heater will be on to work.

You left me confused about something, when I set to manual override for good lets say does it still cut off the unit when it reaches the desired temp and come back ON when temp falls below the desired setting .Thanks a lot

Hi. Under fan my husband sets it in the middle between Fan and Auto. What does that do? Can you explain? If I put it on this we get heat but it seemed to run evey 7 minutes. Not sure if that is normal.

Everytime I set the thermostat to a certain temperature it changes to a whole other temperature, how can I stop it from doing that, I just want it to be the temperature I change it too

Do you need to Lubricate the back pins of the Thermostat? When I replaced the batteries on my Honeywell thermostat I noticed a grease honey color Lubrication on the pins, what is that? Can you provide the exact name/link description?

How long does it take to turn back on when its on auto?

If I have a set schedule and then set it at a hold temp, will that hold temp run even if the room temp is lower than the hold temp?

I have a set temperature in hold for 74 the unit is in and running but it’s not cooling down, the temperature won’t drop past 81 in the house, what could it be?

Hi Thanks for the vid - so, if i override in "Cool" mode. It is set to 72. It will stay that way. BUT, you siad if i turn it to "off" or " Heat" the cool mode will no longer have that override set to 72, correct? Switching to Off, or Cool or Heat, it reset the override to null?

Can this thermostat be set to cycle every 20-30 minutes?

So soon as I hit anything it fades to green where you can’t see anything on the screen so you are guessing what you are hitting. Then it goes to room temperature and gets dark where you can see it again. I want to put the heat on hold at 65 but can’t see anything! HELP

Didn't even know that was an option during the hot summer. 😳 right now the temp outside is 30°. I'm in bed under the blankets trying to stay warm. Just had surgery Tuesday, need to be warm.
