This is a comment to all the people saying the Wolves never gave him a chance. They did, he never justified and took advantage of it. He can't finish at the paint, he can't get past his defender he commits stupid fouls, his shot is fucked, he gets tunnel vision and never passes when driving. There's reasons why he isn't playing. His man weakness was offense, with this new coach everyone improved like Okogie who can shoot 3s now to Juancho who was awful but somehow Culver is the only one who has gotten worse

Timberwolves Podcast mentioned that Culver never really felt comfortable out of Texas and there was a weird interview he gave. He is the Son of a pastor and grew up in a conservative environment. If there is a future in the NBA it must be a Texas Team, hopefully my Mavs. But if he ends up with the Spurs he has the potential to be a solid NBA Player at least. If Pop is not able to improve his shot and NBA Game he will be out of the league very quickly.

@jtellis653
@jtellis653 3 жыл бұрын
@@Watermelon_Man that’s literally what nba teams are looking for athletic, defensive wings with offensive potential. You can teach offense you can’t teach defense. Jaylen brown was a 3rd overall pick whose selling point was defense and he couldn’t shoot he’s a 25 ppg scorer today. It’s not that his only selling point was defense it’s just that he lacked anything else that would’ve kept him in a rotation if his shot never came around such as being exceptional at getting to the rim or functioning as a ball handler. highly projected picks whose selling point is defense shouldn’t be frowned upon. is it risky? Yeah, but generally if those guys can figure out offense they’re among the best in the league

If you pay attention, Minnesota has historically pushed away any player that had a backbone. No wonder they are holding on to Towns so tightly because it was said in college that he was not an alpha. Marbury,Garnett and Cassell were pushed out of Minnesota. Wiggins is having a decent season in Golden State. Jimmy Butler called the team and organization soft,proved it and got shipped out of town. This is an overall organizational failure that no one wants to accept. Even KG is still calling out the Wolves organization and he is retired!!!

The weird thing with Culver is that it doesn't even seem like the Wolves have used him poorly. As a Wolves fan who has seen him play constantly, he just doesn't play with any fire. His jump shot is absolutely ugly, even after adjusting it this offseason. It looked so much more smooth in preseason, and then it was clunky again just 2 weeks later. He hasn't been effective at all off the ball as a slasher, and is a significantly worse defender than Josh Okogie at the same position. He needs to go back down to Texas where he can clear his mind and just play basketball.

If you expected him to be a star, you were bound to be disappointed, but I wouldn't write him off just yet. Looking at that draft class a year later, though, I don't think this one will be seen as very deep. Zion is Zion, Morant's stats have cooled, though he's still got his team in the mix, Barrett had a rough start, but is coming along. Others picked in top 10 look kind of bad, though. Garland, Reddish? Yuck.

Its not lube-ock its lub-bock, pronounce somethin like “lubuck” I whent to school with culver (all of middle, most of highschool). Not only is he an awesome person, He is a super hard worker and doesnt give up! just because hes had a lack luster performance in other’s opinion, i think he can bounce back, because of his drive and he can ball no doubt.

Made zero sense for Minnesota to draft him. They already had a guy in Okogie who plays an identical style. Then again it’s Minnesota we’re talking here….

Some sort of a culver (and stuff) for Toppin would be a good trade. Neither team is using the guy they have and could use the other.

He still can guard 1-3 and maybe some 4s. I think wolves should send hım to g league and let hım gain some confidence. he should be go to guy again to get better. He still can be 15 5 5 guy at least.

Everything has been bad timing for Culver. Great potential but the team wants "Spark Now" from their bench. It will be hard for him to get playing time with the loaded young guns who all wants to prove themselves worthy. Nothing will change with T-Wolves. Go somewhere else they will utilize his talent. Head Coach can destroy a player. Another example is Bagley with SAC. Not the players but it's the COACH that will impact each players.
