I was hitchhiking from Ohio to California in the middle of January with 12 dollars in my pocket. I received a ride from a donut shop to a men's shelter in a small town in Indiana about 9 pm on a Sunday night. I stayed there 4 days. During my stay I saw Hoosiers in a movie theater on Larry Bird Blvd. The town was Terrahaute(sp?) - Indiana.

I live in Southern Indiana. About an hour from Milan (the town Hickory is based on). This scene, while awesome, is a Hollywood fabrication. There's never a town/community referendum where a coach gets to defend himself. Things like this are done very discreetly and dirty by a small group of vindictive douchebags with the power to do so. In real life, Norman Dale would've been done for regardless of what Jimmy had to say. Still one of the best movies ever!

Violated the league drug policy and received an indefinite ban until the town of hickory legalized weed. Look at his eyes. Obviously tokin. In a deleted scene, he and coach actually share a blunt when they have their little chat outside at Jimmy’s house. Coach was like “I don’t give a damn whether you play or not. Just as long as you can get me some more of this stuff.” And jimmy was like “aight”. Then he showed up at the church in this scene and dropped the mic. Coach Dale was like yeaaaaa 2:10

I swear, small towns in the Midwest were always full of self-righteous, hypocritical people fearful of change or outside influences! And of course a church is where meetings were held of all places!

@@vernonpitts6630 in 1951, of course not. Were you alive then? Why are you calling me an idiot? If I was an idiot, would I be coming to an overlooked movie like Hoosiers making comments like this? At least you didn’t say “your an idiot”. I’ll give you three days. If you don’t respond to my post, you’re either dead, don’t have the ammo to fight back, or too lazy to fight back. 😉

@Fred Wright After all the voter suppression that the Republicans pulled on potential voters Biden still won the popular vote by Seven Million (7,000,000) votes! Can you imagine just how many more votes Biden would have received if not for dirty Republican politics?!?!?!

Repugnants are always yelling voter fraud, but in the very miniscule cases when it's been found, who's the ones; A. getting caught committing it? Then, B. pass more voter suppression laws after getting beat LEGITIMATELY?...... CRICKETS !
