I have a new one year old car (Creta). Last week I went to HP Petrol to fill petrol even if I had almost full tank. But the next day being Sunday, for security reason I wanted to fill my petrol tank full. I top up for Rs. 500. While filling was on I still kep by car on to see if the meter in my car was moving up. The petrol boy also asked me to check the meter on the board, so I thought he was honest. But to my surprise the meter in my car was not moving at all. That makes me suspicious to the management. But since I was rushing for a meeting I did not have time to rectify over the matter. I only kept the matter without sharing with anyone. But today I was reminded when my lady friend announcing over the incident and over her experience in HP Petrol station. I think, we the public need to be extremely aware of the broad day light robbery. Thanks.

This exact same petrol pump, HP Petrol pump near Naharbari junction, I had a similar incident. Thank you for speaking out which I couldn't due to my ignorance in the past. It was last year, going for journey I filled my tank for Rs. 2,500 with remaining fuel atleast more than quarter of the tank when I checked before refueling(Max tank capacity-40 Ltrs). I went to Jalukie and came back the same evening and by the time I reached Dimapur, the fuel indicator dropped to Empty (blinking). It caught my notice and I was sharing the experience with my siblings as we reached home because when I calculated the distance of the journey and the total fuel it was left with, didn't tally at all. I wanted to file a complaint about it but due to my own excuses of my schedules and lack of proper evidence to even make claim about, I couldn't do it. Ever since then I have been avoiding that Petrol pump. Earlier I wasn't fully sure if it was my just my mis-judgement even though I doubted of the scam but now I am convinced after learning all these instances. Concerned authorities need to deliberately take this matter at the earliest. There are hundreds of cars flowing in to fill up in every fueling stations and the public are hugely looted by these scammers on daily basis.

Very soon Petrol Union president will come out with clarification supporting this petol pump unethical pratices.Shameless.

We have our Consumer Rights....Right to be informed.. Let's us all stand to fight against this unfair trade practices....

I had a similar case last time. So here is my story. I used to fill my tank in a particular oil station everytime. One day i caught them red handed that they started the meter reading from 200. I scolded them and they gave me the extra oil( for 500rs they gave me for 700). Again another day( me already conscious of their trick) as i went and ask them, one guy trying to bolck the meter view and talking... How much? Meanwhile another guy quickly started the meter from 200. I got angry and went to police station. The police asked me the proof. I had no proof of the incident since it was unexpected. I couldn't register FIR. But the officer assured me to go and warn those cheaters. I was alone in that case, and nobody was there to help. But i already caught them red handed of their cheating. Thank you sister for exposing such anomaly.

This isn’t the only petrol ⛽️ pump who does this scam. I had faced the same issue on my way from Dimapur to Kohima, just before reaching Kohima. Police should do something about it.

Register a case under appropriate sections of law and book the culprits and deliver the justice by cancelling the license.

There is a software program in the computer inside the office of the manager of the petrol pump where it shows everything with a chart how much petrol litre is dispense from the particular petrol pistol into the car. So if you know the exact time and from which petrol pistol it is dispense into your car, you may find out the truth. I face a similar situation like that and I complaint about it, I demand to meet the manager of the petrol pump and he led me to his office and show me the transaction of all the petrol dispenser in their computer, after checking it, they found out irregularities and filled up the remaining litres I have already paid. They told me that their petrol pistol stop working at that particular time. That was their excuse.

Dimapur Police should take stern & appropriate action against such petrol pump outlet & if found guilty, the proprietor should be put behind bars along with the staff's.Give Justice to the lady who raise such issues for the welfare of public. We want justice.

Police accountability, oversight and integrity is a must to tackle any problem in any given situation. In no means they cannot stand there saying "We too don't know" in the sense that they should and must be trained to have a good connectivity to contact any expertise in the department. However, such system comes with a good management. Secondly, I always dream of our National workers addressing such occasional issues that we the public faces, we who feeds them with our direct/or/indirect taxes. Alassss, we have a long journey 😢

Happened with us as well same issue same petrol pump. But we were in rush for some emergency so we left. Could clearly remember telling us to see the meter. But the quantity never really increased according to the amount.

For everyone awareness,, Legal metrology is the right department to approach for any such cases of meter tampering. An inspector is present in each districts ,they can be approached to help out if similar issues is suspected. They are trained officers who have all the equipment to detect any anomalies. Such tampering is a punishable offence under Sec 264 of IPC. Proprietor/offenders should be first thrash by public and then send to jail as per the prescribed punishment.

Me too i always have some peculiar feeling about petrol pumps in Dimapur. Thank you for the update I'll have to do some research myself and screw them

Need to fight back all the publics and wake up all my peoples of nagaland how long do we have to stay like this blindly looting by those fellow scammers Also our special investigation team and vigilance for all this business should be made or train in our state police personnel to tackle and punish them

Such kind of petrol pump should be,cancel their lines if not according to law should be punishe.

You said the capacity of the fuel tank in your car is 50 litres, and it was half full at the time of the refill. It would only need about 25 litres for the tank to be full which would amount to ₹2500 give or take. Not ₹4000. You have definitely been robbed Madam. Get to the bottom of it.

OMG...is this really true? I use my car for My workplace office purpose only and office is just 850metres away from the petrol pump...every Wednesday or sunday I filled up my car to full tank even if tank is half or 2-3sticks less. My car is 5years old tip top well maintained and rarely used and it gives not less than 22mileage with 4,000 litres fuel tank. Maybe this is the reason why my full tank(4000rs) doesn't even last 5days non ac car👍 It's high time that higher authorities check each and every fuel stations,check the density and meters please🙏

Sis, u take out all the petrol and refill again from other p.pump instead of quarrel...so that u will know exactly how much it will be....i think it will help u to get the prove.

I even faced the same problem just end of last year..as I was filling the tank for 1000 rupees,one Naga lad came asking for an empty bottle in the midst to distract me,than in 8-10 seconds they said they had done the fueling ,this kind of situation should not be taken for granted ,matter has to be taken into action at the earliest .

This has happened to me as well in Najarjan petrol pump last year. I thought maybe it takes time for my petrol meter to rise but it never did even after adding 10 litrs of petrol. I believe there are multiple pumps thar scams ignorant people from time to time.

Last month same thing happen to me on that petrol pump and it was on Sunday,,,

I had a similar incident at Hollohon petrol pump, purana baazar Dimapur few months back. I went there to fill the petrol with my meter showing two stick which as per the expert says a minimum of 12- 15 litres will be in the tank. I asked the worker there to fill it till it's capacity which is 50 litres( Renault Duster) and to my surprise the meter keeps going up till 51 Litres and it's not getting full. I asked the worker to stop and raised a question as to how a tank capacity of 50L which already had 12-15L can hold 51 L and still not get full. I started charging them and within a second they called the owner. I didn't want to waste my time since I had a journey to make the next day so I just paid and left.

In Kohima, we are cheated everytime by local butcher.. you will never get the right amount of meat you paid for. Its just common robbery, i am used to

The attendants even trick with the fuel dispenser which is fixed at the back of the machine.Stay alert !

I also faced the same issue at this petrol pump few months ago, filled for 2000rs but my cars' mileage n prediction was mismatched. I questioned the guy filling the petrol but seeing the line of vehicles' behind me i left considering my vehicles' automatic reading maybe wrong. My presumption was right n for 2000rs of petrol i hardly recieved a thousand buck of petrol. Since that incident i have never filled at this particular petrol pump

Similar incident happened to my husband few years back. Even that time they offered to open the meter machine to prove that it was not tampered.

People of Dimapur should stand strong against underground tax collection in all the shops in Dimapur. Poor non-locals, they are cornered by both the underground and public. The non-local businessmen have been collecting public money and submitting to the underground.
