It's been a bumper year here at Hornby including returning to our Margate site, being featured in James May's BBC Four Documentary, the debut of Signal Box and lots of amazing models.
In this episode Mike takes a look back at some of the best bits of 2019.

For me personally, it was the Starting this New Hornby YT Channel and being part of Hornby Brand. Hornby as been catching up in the 21st Century and as moved with the times of the past, as it as spanned right across the spectrum of time from the earliest of Toys, right up to the very latest Toys and models of the 21st Century. Watching this YT Channel is just like having the Hornby shop window in the palm of your hands, to watch as and when you wan’t to look at what Hornby as to offer, it brilliant and unlike any other KZfaq Channel as Hornby carries its brand when and wherever it goes. 👍🚀🌈🚀👏

Congratulations on it being the company’s 100th anniversary. I really thought that you had a marvellous year in 2019. I loved a lot of what came out in the 2019 range but there was some things which I would still like to be able to put on my own train set. One of them would be a class 142 with directional lighting in the Northern rail livery. I would also like there to be a lighting kit which would let you bring your models into the new decade. Another thing I would like Hornby to do is to let you know if you have lost one of their competitions especially in the advent Callander. However this year will be good no matter what.

Happy new year to everyone at Hornby! My favourite parts of 2019 were the new Gresley A4 in BR experimental purple which I bought at Warley, and as mentioned in the last part of this video the A4 Bittern with 2 tenders

What a wonderful year it has been.For 2020 I would like to see a Manor class loco Foxcote Manor would be my first choice.Looking forward to the new range in 2020,hope you all have a Happy New Year.

I'm more looking forward to the release of Bachmann's new Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends range, later this year. But I'll always love Hornby steam engines as well. Yes, Hornby is where our hobby truly began. Now Bachmann is running alongside. Long live my favourite childhood hero and his friends in 2020 and beyond.

Happy New year Hornby. Best thing in 2019 was you returning to Margate. Only thing I wish would happen is production also returned to the old site! Unfortunately I'm sure due to costs that will never happen! Keep up the good work and I look forward to what's new in Jan with the Hornby Catalogue 2020.

Margate was the home of Tri-ang Railways. That marvelous range of affordable toy trains we could play with without bits dropping off and as we got older learn crafting and add detail to ourselves.

I felt privileged to be part of the Open Weekend in August. I felt part of the team. I'm hoping for something a bit unusual in the 2020 range to inspire new people into the hobby. With the current management I think Hornby is on the right track, and it will be great to see what ideas they come up with next.

Hi hornby happy new year to all at hornby from a railways model of 50 years and I look forward to what hornby has for as in 2020 I am hoping for a new class86/1/2 electric locomotive in intercity livery and a new tooling of BR mk3a sleeper coaches and my favourite hornby locomotive was class87/0 electric locomotive in intercity/and rail blue livery Clive

Happy new year to the Hornby signal box team and staff at hornby. Can't wait for the release announcement on January 6th 2020. Please can you review your model line up by moving ex Lima or older design models into the Railroad range as many modellers aren't impressed that they are being added into the main detailed range when they are less detailed, especially now there other greater detailed models are coming through from other manufacturers.

I would like you to make a range of plastic platform sections - the existing plastic ones are too toy-like and the resin ones do not clip together. I would like the platform sections finished in a range of surfaces as appropriate to the steam era and modern image with a yellow line. It would be great to be able to put a station together very quickly. The options at the moment are all card, which is very time-consuming.

Let's have more reasonably priced Railroad Models. Not everyone wants or can afford the super detailed all singing and dancing DCC/Sound models. I run Analogue dc and so do a lot of others.

Whilst I understand your point, I will not buy non-DCC models and always purchase with DCC, preferably with sound. My railway modelling is a life priority (we don't do holidays, etc) and my 5 meter by 3 meter layout uses sound locos - steam and diesel. This is a life choice and I see that Hornby need to continue with their "Railroad" range and their detailed model ranges. Both need to be developed.

@@davidblincow8012 Yes I understand you David and I agree that most people DO run DCC and won't buy anything else. But in my case, I am now 75 years old and have a massif collection of both Hornby and Bachmann locos (90% which are steam). To convert to DCC in my case, would be unpracticle for a number of reasons, the overall cost and my age. Model railways for me is a hobby I enjoy and have done since I was a child, but it is not a priority of life, it's a hobby as far as I'm concerned. So no hard feelings. Everyone to their own choices as far as what models you buy and run. P.S. I notice you don't have a KZfaq Channel, showing your model railway?

Shame you can't seem to produce modern locomotives (diesel and electric 2000+) that would make it onto the top 3 anymore. Would be nice to see a new modern loco next year, my favourite this year would be the Class 153. Happy new year everyone!

I think they should do more modern image DMU's, EMU's and Diesel locomotives. There are loads of new DMU/EMU units on the railways that aren't modelled, a interesting one would be the Viva rail converted D stock london underground units.

So with passion in your product is that why you continuously release models of 20 year old tooling and try and pass them off as top range models and top range prices stop ripping off customers there should be no need to reuse a 20-year old piece of tooling it makes no sense
