Happy Birthday for the 101st time. My memories go back to the late 1950 when I was bought the Princess Elizabeth train set on series 3 track. We had it on the table Christmas morning running round powered by three Bell batteries. Sadly none of it was really to scale. I'm sure that won't be an issue for the 2021 launch. Well done 🤓💖💙

Well done hornby! I am very pleased with this years range as I was hoping for some new industrials and modern deisels in the railroad range. I will definatley be ordering a few of these locos.

I have the itraveler 6000 set the controller is really good and I love the app that comes with the controller especially the inertia settings this gives a more realistic acceleration and de aaccleration motion for the locos

Playtrains. Fantastic. Yes, agreed a market you are missing. Now to develop some of the things that we all enjoyed as kids...Helicopter Car, Giraffe Car, Exploding Wagon (!!??), and please please, propeller powered Turbo Car...

Looking forward to seeing the pricing for the Playtrains range, as it looks like a great way for kids to get involved, as well as them being able to expand with track, locos and wagons! Also, the Valley Drifter set: I have to get one, if only because of the loco and open wagon names! Someone's a King Crimson fan there! And you had to bring out more Beatles items, didn't you? My wallet won't be so happy this year!

What about the hornby railroad Freightliner class 59? And on the ROG and colas rail class 37s the locos have the wrong nose ends

So..... at 9:07 into the video Simon mentioned something about the "Wavy Lines" coaches to go with the First Great Western HSTs - and says he will return to those later - but SFA I can see he never does. Am I to take it that Hornby have noticed the crazy prices their last run of these "Dynamic Lines" coaches are fetching on eBay etc and plan to do another run of them? When I can get on the website again (if I ever can!) then I'll do a search - but it's been deluged every time I have tried it! You need more capacity there guys.

Does anyone know if the new 9F Evening Star will be locomotive or tender drive? Hopefully they will put a can motor in there too. Thanks, Richard

When is Hornby moving production back to the UK?

The Southern Railway 4 wheel coaches are a bit tempting, I have a pair of Ilse of Wight Terriers 11 and 12 (when Honrby first made them) and these would be ideal.

Great new range, but as much as I am a real Hornby Dublo collector, and loved the Duchess from last year as bought that as it was a special year for Honrby and something that is still outstanding. I will be giving the three new models a miss, as one was expansive enough let alone trying to buy three! So this year I;ll go for the new Rocket set. :)

Love the idea of reviving the Hornby Dublo style and it is tempting. However, as a Dublo collector and runner it would change from a “ tempted” to a “ must have” if there was an option of an original Dublo coupling. I can understand the marketing appeal of a 3 rail blue stripy box but as a 2 rail model a red stripy box would, in my case, attract me more.p as it would be more in keeping with Dublo.

A good range of much needed repaints and re-releases. The array of Railroad 37s and 47s are in popular liveries, and the TTS sound Deltics will be hot sellers, same with the FGW Mk3s and the ever desirable sleeper stock. The Rocket stuff is worth its weight in gold and flies off shelves, and the app controlled trainset a step into the present day. All things considered, such as what the customers want and the current pandemic, I’d say this range is excellent and concentrates on the younger, less wealthy modeller. Grumpy and entitled sods will always complain that a steam loco nobody’s ever heard of hasn’t been announced. The markets served in the 2021 range have been mostly ignored for years and it’s about time they got some love, especially those on a smaller budget. Working at a local model shop, I can tell you: it’s the cheap and modern image stuff that sells and gets youngsters into the hobby, not the newly tooled steamers often raged about... with that said, the P2 and 9F I’m sure will serve their niche, but I fear they’ll fall short of projected demand and end up in the bargain sections of bigger shops as many fancy new steamers have...

I watched this earlier, then had to watch a 2nd video (the hornby magazine one) to find out you'd retooled the mk4s and were doing a new diesel loco?! (the 88DS) Its a 35 minute long video. Could've easily been made up to a nice 45 minutes simply by talking about these and the other new diesel models.

Can you update us on what you are doing for residents outside the UK now that Brexit has happened? Can we order or just look?

Thanks Hornby for doing this video. Out of the Hornby 2021 Range I only like two products there are Hornby R60039 20T NCB (Ex LMS) Brake Van, Hornby R60026 7 Plank Wagon, Lowe & Warwick. But I'm not happy with You Hornby for copy 4 and 6 wheel carriages as I feel so bad for Hattons as they had to announce your 6 wheel and 4 wheels coach that would be in competition with their one. Where are those messing around with Hattons as there are one of your biggest customers that Hornby has. I will still buy the Hatton's one as they look 10 times better than the Hornby ones. As the Hatton's one give you the choice to have light plus they run super well as seen in Sam'sTrains and Jennifer e. kirk video. They also have adjustable wheelsets on 6 wheel coaches for tight curves plus if you don't like super details some can be removed. Hattons Give people a better choice with Livery. And R7338 Maglight for 4/6 Wheeled Coaches only give 200 Hours and there 24 in one day so if I played no stop I only got 8-9 to days. But with the Hatton one, there's, not a limit meaning I could use these to the end of time. I know the Hatton coaches with lights cost £36 which is a little more, that is it there are no batteries to replace like with the Hornby one! I wish we got the S160 instead as people have been asking for it from ever. But keep safe Hornby in these hard times.

Not long now I do hope they do the Liverpool and Manchester Railway Lion loco .

Almost a day later, and the Hornby website is STILL down. By comparison, there are no problems browsing Hornby's 2021 range on Hatton's website - admittedly with a little less detail.

Why does it take months to get the Catalogue?

I also hope they take action against scalpers by limiting the mount someone can buy.
