Duchess, a 30-year-old quarter horse mare, is in the process of shedding her winter coat in preparation for the upcoming warmer seasons. Her shedding continues until June.
I recently became Duchess's owner. She's my first horse, and she lives outside at the farm 24/7, sharing a paddock and run-in shed for shelter with a companion named Finn. Duchess has been living on the farm for over a year, but I just recently became her owner.
