Don’t think your going to look at this but if u could u should make a vid about a 6.1 and go in to every thing that needs to be done to the block and if u use 6.7 rods or 5.9 rods and pistons pin and everything it would rlly help and no one has rlly gone that deep in to making one

Subarus all use the same rods as well. The destroked diesel with long rod changes the rod to stroke ratio making it a higher reving engine with a flat hoarse power curve giving you a bigger power band. The only thing would be weakness of the spacer and structural fatigue, but seeing how much power they give them, I have other issues at hand like my trans shitting it’s guys out in the intersection

This is a very good video I appreciate all your tenacity to give out good information and do a good job back in the early 60s Chrysler but the 426 max wedge block would take the block and put it in the oven and heat it up to roughly 1200° and let it sit in there for 6 or 8 hours as I understand and then slowly cool it off that made the block as strong as it could be as far as equal strength throughout the block I wonder if that would help our Cummins engine maybe cryo-genic dipping would helpThis is six and row Jim saying keep up the good work guys

Rod to stroke ratio….. also less piston side loading or piston slap. This long rod design isn’t new bringing it to diesels is, but the small block Chevy had a long rod kit as well.

So this isn't directly related but you mentioned vp44 24v engines for a second and since you're semi local (I'm up in Farmington) I'd like to support you guys (and get good parts obviously) when I start working on it. I've got a 2001 cummins engine. It's eventually going into a 2000 4 door chevy with a 4l80e that's probably going to have a 1000lb-ft rating. It'll be a daily driver/general use truck. Would you keep the vp44 or p-pump it? What turbo would you run? And what injectors? Also, thanks for the content to help educate some of us who are still learning.

Does the extra sleeving add heat? Cause I do believe Cummins doesn’t recommend the use of thick sleeves on the 5.9l but I could be wrong! I bought a 06’ that had been sleeved by some special type people (very poorley done) but they put thick sleeves on 3 and 4 and those both failed and pinched the piston! But I was new to all this so I just had Black water send me a remand with 12 valve rods and pistons and wrist pins and ARP studs! The installer said it was the burliest 5.9 he had seen I guess! IDK but is that setup sound like a good start at least fir the bottom end? I was a huge WRX guy and soon as I rode in a Cummins powered pickup I switched and want to learn as much as I can while building my first one up to just like 1000 to 1200whp. I drove rig in the Bay Area fir 13 years snd my last Kenworth had a ISX 15 so I was already a Big Red guy! Awesom video and always appreciate knowledge special when it’s free so thank you! A nother massive benefit of sleeves is that you can get the rings seated before assembly by cycling the pair. Cat dose this with there cylinder packs. Custom belt... what effect dose the deck plate have ? None of the accessories attach other than the alternator

What piston would you reccomend in an 06 5.9 for a 600ish horsepower tow rig that gets beat on every once in awhile? Its a g56 truck, 60% overs and a 64/67

What is the best tuner I can use for a 05 CR 5.9, with a NV5600 6speed. Wanting 650 whp. But with 05 I can’t run EFI and the shop I go to is trying to get me to use edge juice with attitude. But I want custom tuning. I know a can go with HP but I don’t know if anyone in texas who is reputable with custom HP tuning.

Some sleeves require to be pressed in at a machine shop. Are the power bores a wet diesel sleeve then?
