I-beams being lifted by tower crane to the iron workers assembling the structural steel frame of the building.
Usually I speed things up, time-lapse style, but every so often I include some original "raw" construction footage at original speed with original audio. This video was also in Week 55's Weekly Time-lapse, but there it was sped up with music, whereas here it is at original speed with original audio. I use the term "raw footage" loosely. It is not completely un-edited - the footage has been color-corrected and stabilized, and idle times removed. By "raw" I mean the footage has just been minimally edited, with no attempt to "tell a story" or any of those kinds of editing processes.
On this channel, we're following the construction of a new 12-story hospital that will occupy an entire city block in San Francisco. This video is from Ⓗ series construction week 55. Construction clips set #4, July 16, 2015.

Have you seen any iron works slip off yet? In the uk we would use power baskets or cherry pickers instead of men on harnesses. I would not like to work as a iron man.

Alasdairryan No, I haven't seen anything like that. They seem to be very sure-footed and good at what they do. I don't think I could do it.

You live in a different UK to me then fella.....For a start cherry pickers will not run on slipforming and it doesn't always go in straight away and we can go 10 or 12 floors before it is put in and so far I have never ever seen a cherry picker that will extend that high the reason they are putting down the slipform so quickly on the hospital site in the video is because they have no room for storage on the site and so they have to ready the beams for the next floor on the floor below and so on.....Take it from a UK iron worker who indeed does use a harness and often works on beams with a 600 foot plus drop on either side....
