This is excellent. Though it's not really needed, do you know of a way to program a button to start the web server without using rsh or putty? I suppose one could also add starting the web server when the Xiegu boots up. Thanks!

So how about a web terminal to "on-radio" Digi tools, like KM6LYW's DigiPi, except "Digiegu" :-) station control on tablet or phone over wifi hot spot remote desktop...?

I think this is already built into the radio with WFView software for wireless control and audio.

@@ModernHam; not quite, but I'm not explaining it very well :-) , the software runs on the radio ( wsjtx, aprs chat, js8call, winlink, and a bunch more) , and the radio hosts a wifi hotspot and a web page menu that launches the appropriate app on the radio and remote desktop's the window to the device you're using... lookup KM6LYW's DigiPi and swap the role of the Pi with the x6100 linux OS.

What kind of firewall does the operating system have?

No firewall.

it looks like its running a distro of Linux, so no reason you couldn't add a Linux based firewall for security. Also, it would be smart to change the Root password to something more secure if you're going to have a wlan connection to your radio like that. Someone could potentially do a lot of damage to the radio. It would be better to create another user on the radio for making changes to the radio instead of using Root.

It's funny, of course, but nothing more. I had an idea to make my own firmware extensible via Python or some other scripting language, but then I realized that no one needed this. Most often, users cannot even master the functions that exist, let alone create something of their own. 73!
