I watched this movie with my dad on my 14th birthday, when the suicidal guy said “ I killed my first man at 14” my dad whispered in my ear “time to get to work” I couldn’t stop laughing

The ending of the movie was resonating for me. If your talking about the train. It was saying "the world is shit, you can wallow, you can hate....or you can get on the train, and live" it was wonderful.

“I think Christian Bale is a pretty good actor...when he wants to be” he’s pretty much one of the best actors working today. I kind of feel that since he left the Batman role and hasn’t been in much blockbuster type films the general audience has forgotten about him and his talents. Kinda sad really, he’s the best of the best.

I loved the movie even though shit wasn't exploding throughout the movies and there wasn't crazy slow mo shootouts. Because the story is a true depiction of how things were and how horrible reality can be.

As one of the three who actually saw this sad flick, I believe the ending was totally earned. Captain Joe and the woman go through all this shit and at the end neither of them has anything left but each other. Joe intends to let her and the Indian boy leave on the train, but then has a change of heart at the last minute realizing they have lost so much, that it would just be a further tragedy if they lost each other too. It shows the growth of his character, once an Injun fighter, now willing to raise the Chief's grandson. Joe was a loner his whole life, but learns after his quest that maybe having someone care about you and caring about someone is not such a bad thing.

This sounds fantastic. I love westerns and slower movies don't bother me. I hadn't even heard of this so I'm glad I watched this.

Even in real life people do the most crazy things you could never imagine. Fear can really turn a person into a person you don't know.

i knew i saw that kid somwhere i had to look him up tiomthee chalamet he played in one of my all time favorites Interstellar

Saw the movie over the weekend and enjoyed it. I thought the cast were great with some actors showing up I hadn't expected. You had Stephen Lang as the Colonel, Ben Foster as the prisoner as well. I enjoyed seeing how the characters changed over the course of the film.

So far my Film of the Year. Yeah Rosamund Pike's husband charging out of the house into the open to face the Comanche party by himself seemed pretty dumb, and you could ask why Jesse Plemons didn't shout for help when Ben Foster attacked him (too busy fighting for his life?), or why he even uncuffed him in the first place (he had his gun on Foster the whole time, and unfortunately just let his guard down for a split second, plus i'm sure Foster had experience in sticky situations like that, being the guy that he was), but other than that i think the movie was fucking perfect. Ticked all the boxes for me. I was legitimately tearing up at the end, when Blocker makes the biggest decision of his life - to join Rosamund Pike, to try and put his past behind him, to hope again. 10/10 :)

i thought it was pretty great. going from new mexico to montana on foot and horseback, and eventually pointing to stop at a city, you'd be bound to run into people... and they ran only into three other actual groups on that trek. the ending complaints i understand and feel the same way, even bale was opposed to it but relented and went with the director's scene - which was to provide a sense of hope after all that despair. i don't remember a house in the indian attack scene, only that they were on horseback in the open.

Just wondering, did Joe give an official statement on why he stopped reviewing games, or only does a few them every year or so now? It is slow-paced but so, so suspenseful. The silence scared me so much.

I really liked this movie. I felt that, while it was slow and pretty depressing, it showed parts of late 1800's life that are seldom shown, and the general brutality of life in the west in that period.

I can not wait to see your review on monster hunter world!!! Game is so so good :)
