i liked this video your knowledgeable and good at explaining how it works. are you going to complete the series? been trying to teach myself about wiring its hard to find a good source of information. i think you can make a effective learning guide

Great video! I'm researching brake lights for a street rod and how the circuit is activated when the brake pedal is pushed.

Jay K There are two methods, one use a pressure switch in the brake line, and second use a switch behind the brake pedal.

I am about to add wiring to my 1940 Ford pickup rod. I saw this video and it is VERY well made and explained. Do you have more videos for other circuits?

Thanks, I try to do these at the most basic level. I will be doing a complete series for hot rod wiring showing everything from start to finish and without using an after market wiring kit. I will start them sometime late summer.

Informative, thank you. I don't have a 12v power supply -- what do you recommend for purchase as a power supply for doing the demonstrations in the video and testing circuits over using a 12v battery?

+drslinky3219 - There are many power adapters or wall warts available. You can often find them at surplus stores, second hand stores, or outlet stores. They will all have specs printed on the casings. Choose a power adapter with a 12vdc output and a high current value.

What size wire would you have to use for 170mA to exceed the wires fuse rating. Do you need a .185 Amp fuse upstream of the relay? Like the videos, and the dry delivery of them.

18 gauge would be safe and the relay coil should be fused and the fuse size will be determined by the size of the relay or winding in the relay
