Hannah, turn your stove on and warm up the interior of your camper... don't forget to open a window just a little for some fresh air, which is required. Then turn the stove down to a very low flame on one element and the interior will stay around 50-55 degrees. Did it many times back in my younger days when people did the "Oh, I thought were bringing that." kind of stuff. No muss, no fuss, and a lot warmer too.

Zero degree camping with no furnace. That is why you need a travel buddy. When the furnace goes out, you get cozy and keep each other warm.

Only you could keep smiling and continue to be positive in the face of such adversity. Let's face it , no heating , freezing snow , pizza oven failing , but with your amazing spirit and truly adventurous mindset , you continue to bring warmth to a bad situation. Who else can say they have lunched inside an igloo ? Your vehicle seemed to handle all that snow really well. Hope you did not freeze that night and remained toasty inside your sleeping bag.

It’s Sunday! Your soothing voice and the stunning views you share - that’s my Dr. Hannah-therapy session for the week. You certainly did not disappoint…the mountains, the hot springs, that crazy igloo! The pizza, well, I’ll give you a B+ for that - you had some harsh conditions to deal with. Pineapple Pizza has never been my go-to but with jalapeños, I can see how that might perk things up. Not a big snow person but there is something special about that first snowfall and making first tracks 💕 Thanks for sharing your adventure with me 🤗

I absolutely love pineapple and Canadian bacon on my pizza. I will have to add the jalapeno's to the recipe next time! Being at altitude and in frozen temperatures, I have to give you an A+ for trying to do something that requires better conditions than what you were in. The views from the hot springs were majestic and magnificent! It didn't hurt to have you in the picture as well! Keep up the great videos!

There is an air flow switch on your heater, that detects air flow, and then allows it to go to heat. If the switch does not work, or if something is blocking the air from coming out of the heater. Sometimes all you might need would be to clean the switch, if you can find it. Replacing the swtch is your last option.

I carefully took he sail switch out and it had a piece of cottonwood fuzz on it. After gently cleaning the fuzz off, re-installing it, and the furnace worked fine! If you have easy access to the sail switch, its an easy fix.

Winter is my favorite. Keep a hot water bottle in your gear. You can heat water and put it in your sleeping bag near your feet. In case your furnace doesn't work again. I used to stuff two in my bag when I was living out of my Jeep Cherokee in North Idaho at -5°. Thanks for the videos you're great!

Love your program. I worked construction in Northern Ontario a fair bit and my wife and I lived in a slide-in camper. We camped at temperatures down to 40 below. We had a gravity furnace, no blower, It worked fabulous. Also we raced snowmobiles in Michigan and camped on the race tracks in trucks with slide in campers. Winter camping is great. We upgraded to a class A motorhome and one time my wife had to be in Ann Arbor for in house medical tests. I had run out of propane. I ran the generator with one heater but I just about froze. Next day I got propane, but When we got home again I discovered that all along there had been an electric blanket under my bed. If you have a small generator, an electric blanket would be a good option for you to. Keep the shows coming.

Oh, and it sounds like your thermocouple is either bad, or just dirty. Propane is notoriously filthy, and if the thermocouple gets dirty it won’t read the temp right and shut down because it thinks the burner didn’t light. I used to have to take a knife and scrape the spot off of mine sometimes.

We use to make igloos and apartments in large drifts , in Colorado we learned to take a stick measured approximately 10” and stick into the drift or pile of snow , (looking like a pin cushion ) when digging out a shelter as you meet the end of the stick you quit digging and proceed till you’re done . Now you have 10” of insulation, finally using a plastic garbage bag and fill with snow to plug up your door ( poking a air vent in roof for fresh air ! It’s gets warm in a few hours ! High calorie diet to keep warm … no fires allowed !
