The little spikes on Boba’s boots are most likely darts. We never see him use them, but in the Clone Wars another bounty hunter uses identical boots and that appears to be their purpose. So the more you know.

I love the fact that Boba is finally getting some love again. I really hope we get LEGO stuff for him too with his popularity from the Mandalorian.

Pair this with the ROTJ Fett and the two Mandos and that is one badass shelf.

I fell in love with Boba Fett when I first laid eyes upon him. He's great character and i'm glad he's in The Mandalorian and is getting his own show.

That's one of the coolest figures I've ever seen! I'm so jealous, I want one, too.🤣

I think in regards to Jaster's Feather (the sigil on his breastplate), the one shown on the Hot Toys Boba has pretty much become the norm. Every single piece of Boba merchandise I've seen that features it has used the newer design. Like you said, It's technically not screen accurate, but I don't think that will ever change. The same can be said for the design of the mythosaur skull. It's interesting that they used the Pulce-40 yet again, instead of the Sacros K-11 pistol that has since been made canon for almost a decade now. Regardless, I don't ever think toy companies will all be on the same page when it comes to Boba, or even the Slave I. It seems Lucasfilm and Hasbro (and every other toy company) has their own design they use for Boba and the Slave I, because they are always shown with slight differences in official media.

Personally, my favorite "prototype" or "pre-production" look for Boba is the earlier all-white design, specifically with the beach towel cape! Still have to get the Sideshow version of that figure.

Hey Justin! Another great review! The major differences between the A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back stormtroopers were: the frown on the helmet was painted from grey to black, the details on the helmet changed from hand painted to decals, and the holster that was riveted to the belt on the left was given loops and looped around the belt on the right side.

I LOVE THE “PREPRO” ONE! The colour combination is amazing, and the ESB version looks great, too.

This review and look at the figure makes me want to pull the trigger and get this figure. Boba is one of my favorite Star Wars characters. This figure is beautiful.

I have the ROTJ Fett. Because of the color scheme, that one is my favorite. Once again.... Justin makes me want to spend more money. Great review Justin!

Awesome review! I learned a lot about the figure and the costume. I would love to see a review of the Sideshow white suit version! It would be cool to see them all lined up together!: White sketch, Cartoon, Prototype, ESB, and ROTJ! Maybe even the Sideshow Mythos and an eventual Mando “redux” version! 😉

I swear I can’t even tell you how many times I watch your videos before committing to buying a hot toy. I watched the mando beskar review like 30 times and I finally bought him he arrived Friday. 7:27 Actually Cobb Vanth wore that in the Mandalorian, Boba as well in Episode 14 but that didn't stay for too long and he apparently decided to use his back-up aka Empire version in Chapter 15. Probably because that ROTJ one was damaged. So he is currently wearing the Empire version back again.

@29:10 btw if you wanted a full colour poster of the ESB bounty hunters, they have some in Displate, made of metal of course.

Fun fact: boba fetts armour (like almost every mandalorian in cannon) is made of beskar, but the reason why din djarin's armour is shinier is because it was made of pure beskar, and almost no other mandalorian have pure beskar armour

The long stick part on Bobas prototype armor is a built in baton

Question for if you have the older sideshow version but is this body feel better? Like feel better quality.

The original Kenner action figure was based on this pre-production design as Kenner needed time to model and mold before the film design was finalized. I think there were more than just 2 Pre-Pro versions as many photos show different slight changes in each. I know Joe Johnson painted some and Sandy Dhuyvetter painted the rest. They are all slightly different. I like his pre-pro 1 and 2 looks a lot. So many publicity shots of this Pre-Pro 2 version in existence without the eyes and the dent is there. This was my first look at the iconic Boba Fett.

Are the chest armor pieces velcrod on? The arena black versions chest armor pieces are apparently velcro’d on and can be adjusted

Boba fett wears armor from his father, which has some beskar in it, but because it shows his armor deflecting blaster bolts, but it was also stated by George before mando boba that it was durasteel, so its quite interesting to think about.

Did this ship or did you get an early release? I know it's the same as the deluxe version but I haven't got mine yet.

Is it just me or is the lower part of the chest armor off center? Noticed it when you unboxed it and later in the review. Did you have to adjust it?

Asking to every hot toys collector that uses toys wonderland, how reliable are they? Are they a good place to buy/preorder hot toys? I am trying to find a good dealer like sideshow to buy this boba so I would like to hear what you guys think.

Kenner uses the prototype photos of Boba for producing the Boba figures in 1979, both the small and 12 inches figures, they even used the prototype photos on the cards, Lucasfilm used those preproduction images in a Lot of promocional material, I had the Boba poster that was a preproduction photo of this version of Fett with the dark red and yellow arms

OK, you just convinced me to finally replace my 2004 Hasbro 12" figure. And The Mandalorian may have helped a bit, too... 😁 It will look great in my future Mandalorians display. And yes, I'd love to see a review of Sideshow's version of prototype Boba.

It would have been so cool if Boba showed his repainted armor in episode the penultimate episode of The Mandalorian, with those vintage colors.

Did you use two different figures in this? I’m asking because the middle piece of the chest armor is extremely slanted in some of this video, but in the other parts it’s straight. Mine is completely slanted and I’m unsure how to get it straight. Please help mate

The 85 will be out for a while but I want the new head sculpt. I could only buy one for now. Which should I go with from a collectors point of view?
