I got alot of questions. how do keep it legal? i wanna get into hot shot and run a 6.0L same trucks you operate but i'm perplexed by the GVWR. and GCWR and towing capacity. doesn't make much sense to me how the towing capacity is 17,000 and truck GVWR is 13,000. thats 30,000 LBs but the GCWR is 23,000 so you can safely pull 7,000 lbs overweight. it doesnt add up if is GCVW something thats ignored or not accounted for or Enforced? or is only the towing capacity considered. i won't beable to start hotshot for atleast a year. i'm private military and formorly USMC. i will have plenty of start up capital after 1 year overseas. i plan on purchasing a 17K rated Aluminum gooseneck for the additional weight savings could be used for more cargo. and the GI bill will pay for my CDL. and wanted your advice on that.

okay so u did ask a lot of questions haha BUT i understand ur confusion given the numbers youve listed. I think the GCVW is right and GCVWR that youre listing (23k) is wrong because when I registered my equipment, my GCVWR is 42k. My trailer weighs roughly +8k and each axle is a 15k axle (30k total) which leaves me roughly 20k cargo to play with (Its all legal within the trailer specs; HOWEVER, i dont max out the equipment ever. I put at ~15k max cargo weight on the trailer to make sure im legal AND i dont abuse the equipment. If youre running a setup like ours, these will likely be your numbers as well. Also, def get a 40' if youre getting your cdl since you wont have to be as conscious of the weight and u can just load up the trailer.
