A classic scene, the way James Garner slowly works himself into frenzy is genius! And Robards can barely stomach it!

I saw itin 1967 at the RKO Tilyou in Coney Island. To this day it is still one of the best westerns ever!

Ihnat often had a certain low, slow tempo to his speech. And it always conveyed...subtext in...volumes. Not unlike James Coburn, but more cerebral. You also 'heard' his character's wheels turning, and THAT made his bad guys..even badder. Wonderful actor. I am saddened he left us, too soon. What a director he would have made. Real quality to this guy...

"...these are hunting licenses..." Wyatt looking at Andy Warshaw if the gunplay had happened today; "Go Ahead Warshaw, 'Make My Day'! Love this film and got it for my wife on DVD about a yr or two ago...'a man's life; worth 50 dollars..."

Maybe this movie is not as well known as it might be for having been overshadowed by Bonnie & Clyde? It's grown in my esteem over the years and is an excellent contrast to Gunfight at the O.K. Corral.

good movie, but, Robards and Garner were too old to play Holliday and Earp who were in their early thirties when the gunfight and the OK happened. Both Robards and Garner were pushing 40 when they made the film.

Pretty grim. I guess he really wanted him dead right now. Didn't give him a chance for some last words.

he had backup,he always had backup,WYATT died of old age, they counted the bullet holes in his slicker after going against the clantons and mclaury's and he had over 11 holes in his coat, never a scratch,he was a force for good in a reckless time, him and bat masterson lived exciting lives,a brothers life is expensive,i wouldn't have emptied the gun too

American made western movies are boring tons of dialogues hail of aim less bullets, these movies makers should learn from spaghetti westerns how to make western movies
