Welcome to Tick Creek Ranch. This channel
was created to show the daily ins and outs of
life on a small ranch. We are a family of eight,
our lifestyle has taken us from the deserts of
Idaho to the wilds of Alaska and back to the
lower 48. We followed our dreams and finally
settled in the Ozark's of Missouri. We have
owned and operated our own businesses. over
the years, ranging from carpentry and
excavation to commercial and residential landscape. The children and ourselves have
developed a passion for learning new skills
which include leather work, welding and
fabricating, carpentry, plumbing, electrical,
roofing, painting, equipment operation, timber
sawing, blacksmithing, horseshoeing, flatwork
and concrete, timber framing, cattle ranching,
horse training, and many more. Please follow
along on this journey as we build our new
home and delve into the ways of regenerative
ranching. So stick around and watch us create
our dream using old world construction
techniques and style reminiscent of an era

Not a carpenter bone in my body but there is something amazing and addictive about watching your vids. Love seeing your kids learn a trade.

Looking good 💯 I started following you guys on TikTok... And love these longer videos! I need to build and port you guys a few chainsaws! I have a pm14 chainsaw mill for big logs and a woodland mill for 25in and smaller! Iv learned a lot about building with green in the past few years! A lot right here on this channel! Keep up the awesome content.... We appreciate it! I completely understand how much work gos into sharing your life!

Haha! Thanks Robe. The style is dictated by the seasons. When I’ve finally reached my breaking point with the heat, the clippers come out:) Working with my kids and father is a blessing and something I’ll look back on with fond memories. After all that’s all we have in the end. Blessings mate.

I absolutely thought I was losing my mind! Lol... Thank you for confirming that I am not. Back to my original question ( and this may have been covered elsewhere ) but how big will the house be when all is said and done? Video perspective makes it look fairly small so just curious..

The house isn’t large, it’s approximately 2100 sqft. Final size is dependent on how we finish the loft. We don’t need a large home. We’re rarely indoors unless we’re sleeping lol

In our area homes are smaller than 1,800 square ft. So this is a large home. But it looks like it will be beautiful.

@@denisewilson8367 My house is 1344 sq ft so feels larger than it is as I am renovating it. I also have a horrible sense of dimension as I am looking at something, so there is that!

So true man be free... Your work is really good.. How do pay for all of this, do you have a normal job? Im building a homestead too, not as nice as yours but im doing the best I can. Slowly, and alone but debt free ...

Keep at it. It’s going to be soo worth it in the end👍 nice or not, it’s all about function right? Social media is our only source of income besides the occasional horse sale or the like.

I had another question for you. Are you cutting down all the trees or buying the trees from a logging company? I really liked your storm shelter that was one of the best ones ive seen. I currently looking for a 6' tin horn so i can build mine.

@@marty5199 Thanks. I’m really pleased with the cellar so far. We’ve got it really dry in there now. Yes, we buy our logs from another large ranch. We don’t have any pine on our land just hardwoods👍
