Going to Dragonstone is a sign that she still wants to be Queen. Dragonstone is traditionally where the heir to the throne lives. That's why it was such a big deal that Daemon took over Dragonstone in the second episode.

Nobody (not even me) noticed Rhaenyra was lactating until Alicent pointed it out. Alicent used Rhaenyra's own womanhood to humiliate her and spoil her attempt to sue for peace. That is one of the most snake-ass moves I've ever seen on this show.

It’s mad that Rob calls Rhaenyra a “hoe” when she’s only had Harwin as a lover for the past 10 years, whereas as Laenor has had multiple. They both made a mutual agreement. Fun fact: Vhagar (Laena's dragon) is the last of the three og dragons from Aegon's conquest. His older sister-wife Visenia rode Vhagar during that time. (Aegon rode Balerion and his second sister-wife Rhaenys rode Meraxes but both of those dragons are dead already) So Vhagar is a pretty big deal in this show... It's so cool that we can see her alive 😊

I like how Daemon asked differently than Viserys. He asked if Laena would make it, regardless of the child. Viserys asked if the child would make it. Daemon truly cared for her and was pained when she died.

It's crazy tho. Laenor's mother in the books actually has brown hair like Rhaenyra's son. So in the books, when Rhaenyra has her kids, the speculation of whether her kids were Laenor's was too much of a big deal. But they made his mom have white hair, so it made for bigger drama.

I think a lot of people are forgetting it's not only about producing heirs, Rhaenyra is trying to keep her husband's secret hidden. Therefore people won't question them, because Laneor is interested in men. It wouldn't matter if they tried before to have child of his, it was never going to work. Laneor has no interest in women, so he wouldn't be able to get himself into it. Just like one of Robert Barratin's brother, he was gay too and had the same problem, producing heirs. And yeah, Robcity is sort right that they didn't need to give heirs right away since the king was still alive, but I don't think that would last very long. It wouldn't matter if they waited, the issue would still be there. But at least Rhaenyra should just have one or two kids, not three, because no one in their family has dark hair. So it wouldn't be such a surprise to question it. But moreover, the one who has a problem with it is Alicent. It seems every else doesn't care, not even the king. That's why I'm not understanding why she's so press about it. It's not like she didn't do dirt as well, and that's what really getting me annoyed with Alicent. Yes, Rhaenyra lied to her, but both of the two did something towards each other. And that started with Alicent, she's the one who set that up along with her father because Otto didn't want Daemon to be heir. If Alicent were worried about the Realm and not about her own pride, she wouldve accept the proposition of Rhaenyra and this last one was smart to offer peace in front of everyone. Alicent got 4 kids in total, one of them is serving in Old Town with Otto. Thats why we just got to see 3 for now

Rhaenyra and Laenor fumbled regarding the parentage of their kids but Rhae has been with 3 dudes as of right now so that doesn't really make her a "h0e". All three if her kids are by the same dad. Also, the root of Alicent's motives and psyche is her line "but he would be partial to me" regarding her father. Her entire problem is that she's desperate for having someone be sincere to her and is willing to go to any extent to do that. She can pick apart other's doings but you'll see how she also gets her hands dirty the same way when the time comes for her, it's alot of hypocrisy

Great reaction! A few Daemon related insights: 1. Laena was going to die no matter what if they couldn't get the baby out - although a c-section would be a much more torturous way to go. Viserys's wife, Aemma, was immediately held down and cut open despite her struggling so if Daemon had made the same choice I imagine Laena would not have been able to get outside like she did. This does highlight a crime of Viserys's that everyone seems to have forgotten. He condemned his wife to a horrible, terrifying death while she begged him not to do it. Viserys certainly has good qualities but I don't think what he did to Aemma should be forgotten. And let's be real - a man getting to decide that a woman suffers against her will so that a baby (might) live is a very relevant issue today. In this respect, Daemon was surprisingly a better husband than Viserys (to Leana, not his first wife obviously). 2. Speaking of what's going on in Daemon's head - I think this was a really interesting episode for him. He has abandoned his ambitions and wants to stay away from politics, which is such a departure from what we've seen. He wants to live an obscure but comfortable life which Laena objects to because, as dragonriders and the blood of old Valyria, they are above that. It's also pretty clear to me that Daemon is struggling with depression. Laena says that he isn't sleeping, has been isolating himself, is disappointed by life, etc. He wishes the wine was stronger so he could drink himself into oblivion. There was a leaked shot where Daemon hugged and comforted his daughters but it didn't make the final cut. Big mistake in my opinion if they meant to humanize him this episode (especially since he's apparently been ignoring the daughter who doesn't have a dragon). In the books he loved Laena and was a wonderful father. GRRM has said Daemon is his favorite character and I do think he's at his most compelling when his bad traits are mixed with good. So I hope they explore that further.

I know it's a duty to produce a legitimate heir, but who's to say that Lenor actually did the deed with Rhenerya and succeeded in getting her pregnant? He seems more intent on having his affairs as well. Also it makes you wonder is it guaranteed that the children (I know they are not Lenors kids, but still putting out there mentioning the king's horse story) born to Targaryans all have white hair? Look at Alicent and the king and their offspring for example.

@Robb City Laenor is mixed and Rhaenyra is white so their kids would look white anyway because they'd be 1/4 black and 3/4 white, but the reason it's obvious that Laenor isn't the father is because the kids have black hair when Laenor has silver hair and Rhaenyra has blonde.

I am not a fan of Alicent. However, two grown powerful men started this. Her father put her in the king's sights. King Viserys selected her for marriage. He instructed her NOT to tell her best friend of their conversations. Viserys set all of this in motion because he chose her and NO is not an option.

Alicent at the small council table makes no sense

Brush rob thinking Ser Harwin was Criston in the beginning was mad stupid. Rhaenyra even said his name. Harwin has been in this show since episode 3. I’m suprised no one has realised this. He was mentioned in episode 3 by the king when lyonel strong his father asks the king if he would like his opinion. Viserys was like let me guess you believe your son Harwin “breakbones” the strongest knight in the realm is the best match for Rhaenyra. Harwin was the only one smiling at her and giving her is approval while the other lords looked at her in contempt in episode 3. His brother Larys the guy you were confused with was sitting next to him.Rhaenyra’s March back to camp. Harwin was also the guard who ran into her when she was dressed as a boy in episode 4. And of course episode 5 dancing with her making her laugh and you can see lyonel his father gesture him during the riot in episode 5 so he saved her by beating the shit out of the crowd and carrying her out

Rhaeynra was definitely not talking to Alicent for 2 years, after she found out that Alicent was marrying her dad. Alicent caused the original friction by secretly meeting with the king and allowing Rhaeynra to be blindsided by all of this. If I’m Rhaeynra, I’m no longer rocking with my best friend after that, FOH. Alicent was following her dads orders, yes, but as a friend, she still could’ve told Rhaeynra. She betrayed Rhaeynra first. Rhaeynra took her baby to Alicent not only to show strength but also bc she doesn’t trust Alicent with her newborn w/o her. The King is not going to admit to anyone that Rhaeynra stepped outside of her marriage & that his 3 grandkids are bastards. That would mean death for Rhaeynra & all her kids. What father would do that? IDK if Viserys is truly in denial or if he’s faking it to protect his daughter. Either way, he’s not going to actively get his daughter & grandkids killed. Rhaeynra is not giving up on being queen at all. Dragonstone is her rightful place until she becomes queen, she only stayed in kings landing to combat alicents BS. Rhaeynra & Laenor made an agreement to have an open marriage; he’s gay and Rhaeynra wanted freedom. Could she have been smarter in choosing who fathered her children, yeah. So I do think she fucked up there. But I don’t know how right it is to say laenor should’ve just sucked it up and had sex with her, given that he’s gay. Also, harwin is the father to all 3 of her kids. Besides that, there’s no proof from the show that Rhaeynra has just been out here throwing her ass around like that. And men in this world, even royal men, can have bastards and mistresses all day long, and nobody would care. Rhaeynra brings this up to Viserys in episode 4, & Viserys tells her it’s true but bc she’s a woman, it’s different for her (the age old double standard). As for the birth scenes with Queen Aemma & for Laena- the mother was going to die regardless. The king chose the baby bc the baby had a chance, and leana decided her own death. Otherwise, in both situations, it would mean a slow, painful, agonizing death for both mother & child, if nothing were done.

There is a theory. Larys strong is a green sear or basically can do what bran does which is warg into animals. Notice there have been rats in a lot of shots in this series. They say it’s larys warging into the rats hence why he knows so much.

I never understand why Viserys didn't shut Alicent down when she fought him over Rhaenyra's proposal to marry Helaena to Jacaerys. It is the father (i.e. Viserys) who has the legal right in Westeros to decide who his children will marry, not the mother; Viserys can overrule Alicent and many husbands would do so even those who are not kings or high lords. (Ned Stark was unusual in that he valued his wife's opinion on the future marriages of their children, and even took their children's opinions into account)

Laena’s death was so emotional, but it was definitely what she wanted. She would die anyways, it’s better for her to die a dragon rider’s death (she always wanted that).

Vhagar is one of the dragons that came to Westeros with Aegon the conqueror, her rider was Aegon’s sister Visenya. So Vhagar is nearly 100 years old at this point in the story.

Dragonstone is the home to the heir of the throne traditionally. Even Stannis in GOT was given Dragonstone when Robert took the throne because technically before Joffrey was born, Stannis was Robert's heir.

Larys killed his father and elder brother to inherit the castle and the title of his family. He turned from the second son into the heir of Strong family

Aemond doesnt yet have a dragon because half of all dragon eggs dont hatch. And at this time (in the show) there arent any eggs left unclaimed until the next dragon lays a clutch. The King doesnt want the younger princes/princesses to attempt claiming any of the older unclaimed dragons because its too dangerous. Better that they form a bond with a hatchling. Edit: That being said, when Aemond does finally claim a dragon for himself..its epic ;)

They didn't explain Daemon's relationship with his daughters enough in this episode. His Daughter Baela could be considered his favorite, she is just like her dad, her dragon hatched at her birth. She grew up a free spirit, dragon rider and warrior (cuts her hair short for flying). While her sister Rhaena has no dragon at the start, just like Aemond Targaryen. She'll get one before the Civil War starts.

Rhaenyra only been with Harwin since she married Laenor & that’s bc he couldn’t ever do it himself. I wouldn’t call that wildin 😩 she was stupid for having 3 babies with him though. In the books it wasn’t so clear that Harwin was the father bc Rhaenyra’s mother also had dark hair so it was only rumors here and there, never confirmed like it is in the show.

Lari's killed his brother and dad because it's a hell of a power move, he doesn't even hate his family, that's just how cold-blooded he is. Killing his dad leaves a spot open for a more loyal hand of the king. And killing his brother means hes the main inheritor of his family's stuff.
