There are tunnels that lead out of the dragonpit, we see one in the beginning of episode 1 when rhaenyra lands syrax. Rhaenys could have taken one of those to escape, but the writers wanted to have this admittedly cool looking moment, even if it puts them in a bit of a logical box when they choose to not have her roast the greens. I know they realistically couldn't do that if they wanted to continue the story, my point is they created this problem for themselves when they didnt have to.

She had to, she knew she has to get to Dragonstone quick and Meleys is extremely fast. She knows her grandchildren will die if she doesn't fight.

@@nkxseal8398 its faster to go through the floor, murdering all those innocent townspeople in the process, and then staring down the greens and choosing to let them live on to later threaten her grandchildren, than to just use a tunnel then fly away? I understand your premise that she was in a rush but i dont see how the option she chose achieved her goals faster that just using one of the exits the show has already established in a previous episode exists.

Alicent literally admitted that Rhaenys dragon might be a tipping point in peace talks. Laenor is gone & no one is riding Seasmoke at this time. That leaves Syrax & Caraxes as the only full grown Dragons the Blacks have control over. The Greens having Vaghar & 2 other sizable Dragons (Aegon's Sunfyre & Haleana's Dreamfyre are both bigger than Jace & Luke's Dragon's. They're about Drogon's size. While smaller than Syrax/Caraxes they along with Vaghar would win a fight against the 2 dragons of the Blacks) So Rhaenys getting her big ass adult Dragon out & showcasing directly to the Greens that not only did I escape & get my Dragon, but I'm now going to Rhaenyra & could've killed you is a MASSIVE message to the Greens. To her it was a message worth delivering even if it meant killing some rando's who were just cheering on Aegon. (I'm aware those Rando's were basically tricked into think it was the King's wishes or whatever but we know from Ep 4 that the smallfolk are against female leaders.) Am I saying it was smart on Rhaenys part? NO. But it makes since why she did it. And it makes since why she didn't kill the Greens on Stage because none of them are actual major players with power over major houses or regions. Otto's older brother runs Oldtown & House Hightower. Tylund's older Twin Jason is leader of the Lannisters & Lord Paramount of the Westerlands. Not a single person on that stage held full control over a house or region that could do actual damage. Killing them wouldn't have killed the big players & it would've made Rhaenys a Kin Slayer & King Slayer. Both of which are extremely dishonorable titles & both of which would cause the Black's allies to reconsider. Do you really think the honorable Starks would support the Blacks if they did that? Killing Otto like this would also piss off his Brother which in turn would piss off the Tyrell's who control the Reach which could declare for the Greens. It's a PR disaster & could literally ruin the Blacks. It's very smart she didn't kill them & she knew it

@@jacob41057 I acknowledge all your points and actually agree, my point was only that the writers needlessly put rhaenys in this situation so they could get the payoff of the ending scene. She was not in kings landing in the book during these events, so i have to assume they wrote her in so that they could have melys crash the coronation. I didn't consider the point about kinslaying/kingslaying which could offer an explanation why she let Aegon and the greens live, i just felt the whole situation was a tad contrived. Felt more like the writers moving pieces to where they needed to get the payoff they wanted than a natural progression of events. However all in all i thought it was a good episode, and like i mentioned previously i thought the scene looked cool, i obviously love any dragon scenes, it just struck me as odd considering the quality of writing in this show has been pretty much 10/10 so far and the ending seemed a bit rushed in my opinion.

Meleyes is the 3rd or 4th biggest dragon in the dance. Yes syrax used the back entrance but she was still technically a very young and small dragon. The pits only large entrance is the front gate. Also we’re talking about how you think there is good people on either teams. Everyone in this series is basically a war criminal so why are people shocked that a high noble and targaryan didn’t care about the common people.

We all know this it was discussed thoroughly in the last episode, that being said there's no way I believe she actually believes that. The day Viserys died he completely supported Rhaenyra and told Alicent he had to set things right. At the very least she's just using that to justify her actions.

I don’t get how people don’t understand the concept of selective hearing or understanding. He mentioned his own dream of seeing his son sit the throne with Aegon’s crown in episode 3. She meshed it altogether in her silly head and heard what she wanted.

@@nkxseal8398 idk if you've read the books etc so I'm not gonna spoil stuff but, we gotta look it from her point of view too. Yes she might have meshed it together, but she was also in a lot of stress and mourning. And it wasn't very clear for her either. She's a mother who wants the best for her son but also wants to hold the little power she has and do what she believes is right. This said tho, i think she's making a misstanke ofc, but we shouldn't all blame this on alicent. At least she's trying. Even if abelit naive. Having men hovering over you all the time playing their little game, tiptoeing does that to you. But she fails to see how fucke d her son is, which is her greatest misstanke. Question is if she could do anything in the end though, she knows she has Otto watching her every move and tries to control her.

I don’t think anyone asked him to. It was either Ser Erryk or Arryk (I can’t seperate the two lol) which was foreshadowed during the search for Aegon. One of the brothers begins to realise that Aegon is unfit for Kingship whereas the other clings to his duty. During the fight with Ser Criston in front of the Sept, one of the brothers watches on and leaves. I would bet that this is the moment Erryk/Arryk choses to free Rhaenys as he can no longer support Aegon’s ascension.

I'm just excited to see the Black side get their due next week because we have some really intense and traumatic stuff coming for them.
