It'd be pretty awesome if they did a director cut ,and re added the deleted scenes into the show. Definitely the scene with daemon comforting his kids.

What a great scene that would help set up baela's involvement, and give us some insight to the velaryon ,and targaryen side of the family Shame it was cut.

I would've rather seen more of the girls than Larys and Aegon master-bating. I feel like the reasoning for cutting certain scenes out is dumb. Baela's scene makes sense to what happens in the future, Laena claiming Vhagar on screen makes sense to her discussion with Viserys and so much more. They're more relevant to the story than an extended view of Larys gradually playing with himself and Aegon's butt cheeks.

What she says to Corlys makes more sense with this scene, also why she has that gaze after Vaemond died, and it concludes her feelings about “the queen who never was” and letting that happen so long ago. This coming fight would correct that now. Plus whytf did they cut all the lines from Baela and Rhaela?! They don’t wanna pay them for speaking lines?!

It really sucks that they didn't keep this in. I understand that it doesn't do much for the epot, but Bhaela and Rhaena were such husks of characters this seasons and it would have been really nice to get a bit more from one of them.

It’s hard to keep all the good parts like these nuggets that add to the character development. But more than likely we’ll get more of these characters in later seasons. We know who they are now and now it’s time for them to shine one at a time

I'm actually VERY ANNOYED that they skipped over the 3 Velaryon girls entomologies, so to speak.

This series brought the peak GoT political intrigue and high fantasy medieval brutality. Mission accomplished.

it seems like there are enough deleted scenes to make up at least an entire additional episode if not two. Interesting to say the least. It does make me wonder what additional character developments we've missed.

See this is why I wish they would make the episodes on the blue ray more like 1:20:00 so they can add some of the deleted scenes. Or even make a special edition blue ray that costs a little more money but has these longer episodes

I'm happy that the actors playing Laena, Baela and Rhaena got work. But honestly, they were used so little and their presence was of so little dramatic importance that their characters actually could have been written around, with the daughters being brought in later when they actually have something to do in the story. Daemon could have just showed up in Westeros and someone would say something like, "Sorry to hear about your wife Laena's death. I assume your daughters will be joining you shortly here in Westeros." And that would be that. It's much better than having Rhaena and Baela be used like pieces of furniture in bad wigs. That's the worst kind of tokenism.

I want to see more of Baela. Like that scene gave her a lot more character.

By the show runners showing us so little of the kids, it makes it harder to care about them when something happens to one of them. They should be more than just extensions of their parents. Luce's death would have been far more gut-wrenching had they bothered to let us see more of the character. I realize that in season one they were anxious to get to the start of the war and that they wanted to keep the show moving, but that shouldn't come at the expense of characterization. Daemon's daughters in particular have been little more than props. The whole time they were played by adult actresses, they had maybe 4 lines between them. Yes, Daemyra is fascinating but must EVERYTHING we get to see have to be about them? Isn't the tragedy of the story supposed to be how the hatred felt by the parents affects the kids? Also, the director of photography needs to light and photograph the black actresses better. It's almost 2023. There's no excuse for not knowing how to photograph non-white skin. The fact that Baela and Rhaena are lit so poorly, means that on some televisions, they disappear into the background. All you see is white heads of hair. Not good.

Jon Snow’s the true central character of Game of Thrones… you could even argue he’s the true central character of the entire “song of ice and fire” storyline. That’s why he’s getting a sequel show mainly to clean up the aftermath of S8 by giving an unofficial S9+. But his character was meant to achieve so much more that what D&D delivered. *Central Character* : Jon Snow/Aegon Targaryen *Main Characters* : Daenerys, Night king, Littlefinger, Tyrion, Ned Stark, (reluctantly Bran as well 🙄) *Major Character* : (debatable) *Supporting characters* : (Debatable) *minor characters* : (Debatable) *Extras* : Random citizens with no lines or dead’s that impacted the story in anyway whatsoever.

So Daemon's popularity was already established years before. He was popular before GRRM started saying Daemon is his favorite Targaryen back in 2018. I compare Daemon's popularity a lot to Darth Vader and Iron Man. Vader is the villain in Star Wars but he's still the most popular character after choking Padmé to death and slaying children. Tony Stark can be a real self-centered a-hole but he's still the most popular from MCU. Daemon is still the most popular even with the writers trying to make him look worse! I remember early on, Jody's Corner and Akasan did not really understand Daemon's character like Sara Hess. I think they're starting to warm up to him now. They're starting to get him. Daemon can be a very exciting character because he's unpredictable. He can be ruthless and then be heroic in the very next scene. First time we all saw Daemon on TV, he was sitting on the Iron Throne and then flirting with his 14-year-old niece in High Valyrian. Then we see him massacre criminals with the City Watch/Gold Cloaks. By that point, I was already nodding my head with approval and telling myself, I LIKE THIS GUY! 🤣 He was going to be a problem but he's a fun problem to watch. Check out polls on different KZfaq channels and Daemon basically wins every popularity poll in a landslide. I didn't vote between Daemon vs. Jaime last month because I love Jaime too. But I only found out recently on Twitter that Daemon beat Jaime 76% to 24%. 🤣 And Jaime is a very popular character from GOT and my favorite from that show. Daemon really is the Elvis Presley/Axl Rose of Westeros. He's Vader/Iron Man of his franchise. He's truly a Targaryen ROCK STAR. Even the actors who portrayed older Jace and Luke say Daemon is their favorite. I know HOT D is Rhaenyra's story and I love her too. But Daemon has to be #1 because Matt Smith is what makes HOT D tick. Daemon is the special sauce. He's the Michael Jordan of GRRM's lore. Real quick, I will say Paddy Considine was the best actor of Season 1. But since we only got him for 8 episodes, we really can't place Viserys at #1. Viserys is a minor character in F&B and Paddy gave him amazing depth. Be a crime if Paddy doesn't win an Emmy. And I hear Paddy is like the nicest guy to work with. Very fun-loving. Same applies to "Matt Daemon". I'm excited getting my black Rogue Prince/Daemon hoodie from Redbubble. Not a fan of the iPhone case I got for it. It's a glossy plastic and the logo wasn't centered. If there is house of dragon season one blueray or dvd edition i hope we get the deleted scenes maybe in a better quality. Also happy the velaryon family had more deleted scenes they felt less described than the other families. There were ones that was in favour of daemon But in the actual show daemon seemed like an a-hole to everyone he loved. I hope season 2 treats him better.

IMHO HBO made a big mistake by 1) going with 10 episodes instead of 12 episodes so that important plot had to be cut, and 2) putting time limits on those episodes so that important scenes had to be cut.

I wouldve been fine with a longer season 1 so we wouldnt have that massive timeskip but oh well

The time jumps in this show are pulling me out of it. Unfortunately it sounds like they will continue the huge time jumps next season. Not sure if I am going to like this show.

Way too much was cut this season. And I’m still not happy about Hess being involved she’s a big red flag for the series.

Laena, in the source material, has nothing more to offer. Just another habit of GRRM to put some ensemble to make the story looks complicated and have those characters killed later.

Rhaenys is badly written she is awful in the show

The only thing I dislike about rhaena and baela is that they’re way too dark, they look full or 50 % black. Not a quarter black like they actually are. My best friend and his siblings are all quarter black and they look either white or Hispanic depending on the kid. These actresses don’t look like they’re 75% white
