Interesting fact : Rhaenyra said "prince Aemond must be sharply questioned..." It's a euphemism that means "to torture". In the books there's multiple segments where people passed after "being questioned too sharply".

The fans going "sentence Alicent to death" "kill her" "touching Princess is treason”. So we just gonna forget that child who got his eye popped out like a champagne cork is Viserys' own son too?! He’s a Prince too?! Viserys is gonna execute his wife for wanting justice for his own son?! Huh?? What kinda weak King does nothing while his own seed gets his eye poked out by a couple of bas-terds? He was more worried bout protecting Rhaenyra’s illegitimacy than his son. Ppl really acting like if some kids did that to your 10yr old in the sandbox ya'll just gonna be like "oh word? Kenny's the middle child. So no biggie.” A mother’s rage, while unhinged, is totally understandable. The king shoulda handed out a more reasonable punishment before it even got to eye for an eye. But he was gonna do nothing due to his gross favoritism for his daughter, which justifiably infuriated Alicent. The king is spineless.

I swear man some of the audience are blind and biased af I love how Emma the actor who plays Rhaenrya took alicent's side in their interview any mother in her situation would go crazy too and emma even said what I was thinking while watching the scene Rhaenrya kinda manipulates viserys and purposefully put a lot of focus on the word bastard and treason to get her way after that viserys the dumbass completely ignores the fact that his son got permanently blinded.

One thing that appalled me is that while his recently motherless, bereaved young daughters are screaming out explanations about having been in a fight with their cousins, Daemon is smirking in the corner. Why isn't he concerned for them; why doesn't he try to see to their welfare, to comfort them? Also, Rhaenyra's demand that young Aemond be "sharply questioned" to learn who told him that Rhaenyra's boys were bastards - 'sharply question' is a euphemism for torture. (ick) Plus, Otto is a piece of work. I can understand why Alicent went temporarily nuts; but Otto's proud of her for throwing fire on gasoline? And no one thinks of suggesting that any of the children apologize to each other.

It's hard to appreciate just how brilliantly shakesperean the dagger scene is without putting into context the mirrored lives of the princess and the queen that has played out for the better part of the season. From mirroring the two contrasting fathers : "she'll obey as you command" vs "I want her to be happy", to the mirroring of the boar hunt vis a vis 'being trapped in the castle and churn out heirs' as Rhaenrya once said, to the mirroring of the depressing sex scene in the fourth episode. 'Forever upholding the kingdom, the family, the law...' it's a lifetime of suffering and being slighted boiling over in a climactic moment which is beautifully filmed and acted. Fans say how good an actor Olivia is. I mean she's been in an oscar nominated film before so it's not surprising. But this is where you really get to see that brilliance.

Then the girls charged at him. The kids initiated both the verbal and the physical altercation. He picked up a rock because he was being beat bloody by 4 other kids. I guess he should've bawled up in a fetal position and taken it. If he was a grown man I would still understand if you said those were fighting words. But I'm not gonna justify physical maiming because of what a child said. By which I mean the he spoke the truth.

Love you guys’ reactions. Just wanted to clear one little thing up about Daemon laughing at the funeral. He was snickering because the guy giving the eulogy used that moment to take a passive-aggressive swipe at Rhaenyra’s kids’ parentage. The eulogy guy is the petty little brother of Corlys that was the “master of complaints” a few episodes ago with the war in the Stepstones. Also, I never took it that King Vizzy didn’t know about the kids’ parentage. He refuses to acknowledge it publicly because he knows what that means for Rhaenyra and the kids. I don’t think Vizzy cares. He just wants Rhaenyra happy.

The funeral is a brilliant demonstration of building anticipation into a crescendo without the characters saying a word. Just from the way everyone stares at each other and the gloomy overcast camera work. The whole thing has an ominious, uncomfortable tonality to it. Viserys very clearly cared more about protecting his daughter's children's true identity than he did about his own son's life-threatening injury. If I was the Queen the King would’ve had to deal with a lot more. When Viserys is raging at Aegon (amazing acting by Viserys Paddy Considine btw) and you can clearly tell the boy is shaken inside. But he doesn't lose frame. The resentment and defiance with which he gives his retort tells you everything you need to know about the man whom destiny is about to come calling. Yeah alpha uncle beach sex is cool and all but it’s every one of these scenes with Alicent, Otto, Aegon that are A1. It's this side of the Targaryen coin that feels way more intriguing.

The marriage didn't happen the same day; they're clearly on Dragonstone. It's a slight flashforward (prolepsis), but only due to the ending scene with the reveal being back on Driftmark the same day.

Btw, not only Rhaenyra doing that would be weird, Daemon also has a lot of respect for Laenor. They are both veterans of the pointless conflict in the stepstones, still a bloody conflict tho that bound them as war buddies.

One thing to note is that they reveal that they were faking Laenor's death when talking over the scenes of it happening, if you pay attention to the dialogue; they end with, "but we will know the truth of it", making it clear that despite others believing they ordered his death there was subterfuge.

That “where is duty, where is sacrifice” scene…Olivia Cooke doing some Dinklage level lifting there. All the agony & passion in the world as Alicent does her best McBeth in front of the fire with the dagger reflecting in Rhaenyra's eyes! “We Know Father. Everyone Knows”.That’s Aegon’s “the Prince will remember that little Lord” moment. Aemond taming Vhagar & holding his own in a 1v4 makes him the real chad in my eyes. Only wholesome moment, our Prince resting his head on his mom’s shoulder to let her know she can depend on him. Last but not least, GOATTO Hightower with the coldest win or you die reference, “we play an ugly game”...and I’m the meme of Homer Simpson decked out in green onsies, sitting on green cushions, wearing a Hightower snapback, holding a Go Greens flag with a Alicent poster on the wall😂. Meanwhile checking in on Blacks: “What is honor compared to a woman’s uncle”-Maester Aemon 😳

When the dagger was falling I thought Alicent was gonna hit the Arya spin move and stab Rhaenyra in the gut with it. It’s only right. It’s the Night King dagger 😌. My man Criston's face contemplating regicide everytime he looks at Viserys, especially when Viserys calls Alicent Aemma is my favorite subtext of the show lol. That's How a Father That Stepped Up Looks At A Deadbeat Dad 😭. Criston prolly sees Alicent as this sort of a pure religious figure. The one he owes his life to. The one who gave him a new vow when all was lost. The saving grace of the soiled knight. Because catholic guilt is the greens’ sexiest trait im just saying😆.

What you were seeing there was a pathetic old man who shamelessly forgot he has another family, making a desperate last ditch attempt to force everyone else to abide by his wishful illusion as the thread permanently slips out of his pathetic hands. You can see the exact moment when the monarchy slips out of Rhaenyra's hands. When the real heir looks dead at his dad's frothing face and calmly tells him we know. everyone knows. Those kids will remember how their dad acted. The daughter will have to learn accountability one way or the other.
